Just read the lot. Must stop thinking about turbo-ing the Midas. I haven't finished it yet...

Exactly my sentiments.

It's all looking really excellent.

I've gone off minis, but honestly I'd have this one in a heartbeat. Hopefully you can keep the engine bay nice and bare.

That's the aim, although all the intercooler hoses soon make it look messy

Looks great :gimme:, what paint did you use to paint the engine?

Just a tin of bmc green from one of the traders at stoneleigh dude

Love it mate.
Did you modify the front subframe yourself?

Another awkward bit out of the way, new turbo elbow and downpipe made today in 2.5" stainless. It's real tight around the pot joint, think there's a good 2 or 3mm clearance though..

Still needs a bit more tidying up and I need to decide on a backbox too.

Not at the minute, I may put one in but the engine steadies are all rose jointed so there shouldn't be much movement.

love this build so far.

i took from your self the seat mount idea and I'm currently making/made my own wasn't that hard and was cheaper lol. just a quick question are your seats staggered. is the passenger seat sat slightly further back than the drivers one ?

Cheers dude, yeah it did work out a fair bit cheaper than buying the kits!

Yeah my passenger seat is slightly behind the drivers as the tops of them are so wide. I may end up swapping them for something smaller, I had monacos before but got these for a decent price as they were side mounts and lighter.

Exhaust is nearly all done, only got one hanger right at the back for now, may need another off the rear beam I think. Still need to weld in the lambda boss too.

Tailpipe was just tacked on while I was fitting it all up. Ended up cutting it down and angling it a bit nicer before welding it fully.

Got my hard lines in for the fuel too, still need to make them off through the front bulkhead once I've decided where the reg is going.

Fuel pump is fitted up under the boot floor, itching to finish off that plumbing but I'm thinking I may get a different tank with a sender in it so don't want to drill the floor for the pipe just yet.

As if one money pit wasn't enough I've also crossed off another must own from my list, work on the mini may slow down for a while!
