I took the car last week to oulton park for the first round of the racing to have it checked over by the scruitineers which said it would be fine for racing!!
It got raped of a few parts by the Zcars team but all in a good cause and resulted in a 3rd place overall in the second race.
The replacement parts arrived last week for me to rebuild the front hub and get it back on its wheels. Finally renewed the insurance with sureterm with the help of the miniforum discount!!
Took it for its first run out since last summer which was about 5 mile to check everything was ok and no major issues, once it was warmed up i gave it a bit of stick through the gears and all felt good right up until the clutch decided to start slipping but i managed to creep it back home under light throttle.
After a few phone calls and words of advice i started to do some elimination to check the clutch cylinder was not holding it off and that the pushrod which runs through the engine was not bent in anyway and binding down the centre of the mainshaft and all was ok.
Time to strip the clutch cover off.
Everything was really clean inside.
stripped of the pressure plate cover to check for worn friction plates and damaged drive rings but as you can see everthing is in order and the plates show little sign of wear and are well within tolerance before they require replacement.
The only thing i could find wrong is that the wet clutch and was completely dryof oil for some reason?? which is strange as its pressure fed from the main oil gallery and has a spray into the clutch basket. I will crank it over later to check we have oil coming out of the basket area.
(the pictures are as they were removed and i hav'nt wiped or cleaned anything yet)
I have decided to change the oil from Castrol GPS bike oil to Silkolene 10-50 Pro4 Plus.
Im leaving the plates soak overnight in the dogs bowl in the oil befor refitting tomorrow when my goodies arrive from Powertec!!
more to follow........................
Cheers

Springs and clutch pawls turned up from powertec today so im now able to get things back together
The Pawls help to smooth out the clutch judder on the hayabusa engine acording to Powertec who fit them on all their engines they build.
They fit in here to get rid of the Ramp action on clutch engagement
Just need to reassemble the clutch basket with the new springs tomorrow, off to work again now.
Cheers

Not had time to usdate on the clutch situation but all is well again now and it certainly feels a lot better and more like a car clutch which is easy to set off with now and very progressive with no jerkyness.
So on with the next Mod:
I allready have the cold air feed pipes installed but i have been waiting for the Airbox from Zcars
So out with the old
And in with the new
Short Std Hayabusa trumpets fitted (CHEERS KOSS )
K+N elemnt fitted
Air intake temperature sensor fitted behind the filter so should the retaining nut come loose, It cannot go into the engine if the loctite fails
Its a tight squeeze but it just goes in nicely
I just got the air intake pipes to fit tomorrow and off to the rollers friday to check the Fuelling is ok with the new intake and exhaust system.
Cheers

The Rollers are controlled via a computer and are used in manual for setting up a specific rev range and then an automatic run is done by starting a t a specific RPM say 3000 and keeping it at full throttle and then the rollers then control the load and let the revs rise accordingly up to the maximum rpm which in this case was 10500. Hence the step-up rise in revs.
