Thats a jack knight 16v head, and i think u'd have trouble finding one of them now, because as far as i'm aware, they've stopped making them

I'd be very interested to see the results of this 8 port, just depends on how much as to be changed to get it to fit, and what the final price would be. I dont fancy all the added expence associated with the arden 8 port, and until the MED head apeard i fancied a 7 port myself, because apparently theres room to fit bigger valves. We'll have to see, keep us all up to date :D

Elder head is a bolt on job, the Arden is not.

When i have done the 16v engine and had my fun with that, I will be going for an Elder head, with a turbo, full electronic ignition and fuel injection.

The only way to go in my opinion if you are considering the 8 port is fuel injection, you can make it all fit under the round nose bonnet and get the best out of the eight ports. Carbs and clock work dizzy are a thing of the past when you can buy a programable ECU for under £300. A pair of webbers will set you back that much.

would you be getting the 8 port cheaper as it would be the demo car? any more details on the head as ive only heard rumours about it, would be nice to have a direct fit head that can give huge benfits like the 7 port. havent people found they can get more power out of the 7 port though due to being bale to fit bigger valves?

The thing is Steve said that its claimed to do a minimum of 10bhp and 10lb/ft thing. But its untried. He wants me to get my current engine r/r to see what its doing at the mo ( he expects 135bhp) and then fit the new head and get it done again

Just that there must be more to it than that? That means i spending the best part of £4000 for 10 horses!! Bit steep.

135bhp is very optimistic isnt it? id think you would get more than 10bhp, seems a hell of a lot of money for only a tiny increase. if it is true might as well go for forced induction if you want more power. arent all the 8 ports in the magazines making 150 odd horse power?

Hi Dogmatix

Im not sure who does the 16v head set? I might be wrong but i think KAD do something along those lines. Antone else?

Also, would i need to strenghten up my bottom end or do anything internal to the engine? its just that ive spent alot of money on the engine from MED and really dont want to take it all out.

A 16v would be better for me as i really am not to keen on the fiters sticking out the front of the car really.

Just had a look at a few 16v vids on you tube and they are mental!!!

Also looked on KADs site and they want £4200 for the race 16v but it doesn't say what it comes with. That would also be £10k i would have spent on the engine alone!!!
