They have a duty under that act to supply goods of a reasonable quality... had you have gone back 1 day/week after buying it, i should imagine they could have taken it back no problem and advised their supplier... however, since months have now passed, they are possibly within their rights to refer you back to the manufacturer .
You have the right to regect the product under the terms of the sale of goods act but they then have the right to question the regection due to the length of time that has passed.
If in doubt, talk to Citizens advice or if you paid by credit car, the card company may be able to intervene.

All f/glass front's are made oversize so the person fitting them can trim and sand to suit the car and get a good fit. Its a slow process but worth it in the end.
If they were made to fit straight on as delivered then very few would!

we ordered an mtec bodykit, and a flip front...
put through the order online...
and 10 mins later we have an email saying that there will be a delay of 10 days for the bits to arrive.. despite the fact on the site it said they had them in stock.. so we phoned them early the next day *placed order on a sunday* and they then said that they couldnt cancel the order because it had gone to the suppliers.
they then got very rude and put the phone down on us.. all i wanted was to get my front end repaired, and if they didnt stock it then id find someone else. i didnt even mind if they sent out the bodykit first and then the front but they said they wanted 100 pound more because the lookalike kit was the only one in store.
we went through the credit card people in the end to get the money back.
as p+l minis refused point blank to refund the money.. even though there was no way the order could have gone to the supplier to be made *by own admission*

I've heard P&L Minis can be good for stock items from different suppliers, or when buying a mini, but then I also heard and saw pictures of their attempt at a Vtec frame, which was diabolical, and have heard many stories about them being rubbish should you need a refund or exchange an item.
well the problem is .. they are sayin its my car and my fault it is bowed . but it is not. i have never had it out the box until i came to fit it .. and my dad has 25years of welding behind him.. he has done massive cranes .. vintage bikes an car .. and like my dad said .. what is a poxy mini to him ... he is not meaning it in away they are poo.. he said it the easyest car he has eva done in his life..

Don't know if you can blame P&L minis as they probably buy them in from a supplier all you could do is ask them to replace it.
Under the sale of good act, you have a contract of sale between you and P+L mini's

What they said...
If you had checked it when it arrived and found that it wasnt right it would have saved you this hassle. You cant prove to them how its been stored or been done to since you've had it - to an extent I cant blame them for not rushing to change it.
Howver, hope it gets sorted and I think everyone will have had an experience similar to this in the past.
