well it was a cool day out even though i wasnt feeling too good.

loved the miglias that were down there, thing i must have spent about an hour looking at them.

also met the guys from specialist components again, brillian to see all the stuff they are doing.

Have to say that was our best Run ever even with all the organisational mess-ups!
Got to the Park a bit early so had to wait 30 mins to get in but once in bagged a spot on one of the alcoves which proved a good move! Brought extra strong nail pegs and a mallet so no probs getting them into the ground.
Not amused by the BINIS next to us parking their cars in line at 10.30 which then sparked a rush to line up before the accepted time of 4am...marshalls did nothing to stop it and it was only after pleading with them to park in a straight line that some order was restored! Worried that it will start a precendent for the future tho.....
Early to bed at 12.30...why was it so quiet? Seems to have been very subdued this year?
Didn't need to worry about getting in line so had a lie in till 5.30 when our other neighbours decided to rev their engine at max for 10 mins after which he said, "that's better...it's running quieter now!"
Joined the first line as it started moving at left at 8.20.
Followed a more direct route to the A23 then headed off. We took the northern route into Brighton via the A27 and racecourse which brings you out at the Marina so facing the right way to enter Madeira Drive arriving at 9.50 which was a really good run. Then it all went Pete Tong........
For some reason LSMOC decided not to let us into the Drive so we sat at the top of the ramp for 40 mins until they let us in....goodnes knows what the queue must have been like on the main road.... once in we were able to leg it up to where our clubstand was and park with the rest of the club.
Lunch at Cafe Belge which my brother in law runs.
Took us an hour to get out of Brighton when we left at 4 but home by 8.30.
Nice to see a few old faces and some new ones as well.

Did anyone see the thieving git who stole my dust caps(what a petty crime) just angry now.

As we were leaving we saw a man having a go at 3 young kids, they must've been about 11 yrs old. He's caught them nicking dustcaps off cars, think i saw some anodised pinky/red ones that he made them hand over, and they ran off with him calling them thieving litte c**ts!! Im sure they had a load more than that, so may have been them :- :)

Some great pictures there everyone. It was much quicker going down the M23 rather than the A23. Got through most of the brighton traffic ok until we hit a monster jam near madeira drive. We ended up 2 cars behind Dom, who left CP before us. When we finally got onto madeira drive we ended up nearly at the autotest area, which was nice. Had a wander round the show, the stalls were almost the same as the other 2 shows I've been to this year, but there were some good ones. Got some nice doorcards for the van from newton commercial, and found some of the red umbrella door handles on a stall right at the far end for the bargain price of £20 :D Beat the traffic on the way out by leaving at about 2 ish I think, and it only took us 3 hours to get back to leicester. Soon as I got in just fell asleep in a chair!

Glad some people remember hearing Jim yelling at those girls. It was screaming "f**k, f**k, f**k" at the end that cracked me up. :) Shame he spoiled it by launching a can of fosters at rodders :- Who drank that in the end?

We were at the front of the third row and we stopped at the petrol station to fill the clubby up just outside CP.... we headed back on the main road and the sat nav was screaming at me to turn right even though all the minis were going straight on... so we turned right and ended up going through the centre of croydon,.. at one point we came off a roundabout onto a dual carriageway bit and it told us to turn on to a slip road (though everyone else was going straight on. and i noticed that some of the cars in the jam were in the first lane so we had made up a good 20 minutes... we got on to the M23 and i noticed that we were overtaking show and shine cars including the general lee clubby estate. We got to the show and had to Queue for 30 mins just to get off the road.... the marshalls were having a mare!!!!! we walked around, had some lunch and ice cream, didn't buy anything though.... we left at 2pm and picked Holly up from Grandparents at about 4 ish and got home for just before 5... absolutley knackered and sunburned but i still managed a 5 mile run!!!! :)

Lip still has the burn from the BBQ and thumb is still cut. :-

well i didn't see any people but did manage to spot a few members cars.

spotted weber 45 at the back of a small group i was leading halfway through the run (noticed the roof box) and then again on the M25 on the way home (i was the nutter who crept up behind you and tooted :- )
spotted Tomf's, Raz's, Biggav's and Nev paynes' cars at Brighton sea front and saw dogmatix sitting in his van as we were driving up the ramp to the main road as we were leaving.

had quite a long day. left at 3.30. parked outside crystal palace and started the run about 8.45.
took it real slow and got to Brighton around 11.30 i think, had to park right up the end.

had a really good day, best L2B yet, but ran into some troubles on the way home. finally got back at 10pm.

some pics....

was a good run but scrappy got a bit warm in the traffic, hadto have the heater on most of the way there and back, just as well I had my L2B shirt to put on when I got there, and thankful i don't have vinyl seats. My airbed deflated within about an hour so got no sleep at all! lots of tea and redbull kept me going.

Didn't buy much, just an aston cap and a steering drop bracket. but got plenty of ideas for my rebuild! bring it on!

was realy good fun, nice to meet you all.

Can anyone remember the name of the guy we stopped to help just outside crystal palace? wanted to make sure he got home ok as we never got a number or saw him again. would like to point out not a good idea to have done the run without breakdown cover, when he was so far from home.

Did anyone see the thieving git who stole my dust caps(what a petty crime) just angry now.

rodders
ryan and i saw the guy we stopped to help arriving at brighton around 2:30, even helped him again by stopping traffic so he could park all the way up front. he said the recovery guy ebded up fixing his clutch.
