You should think about making a video/picture diary of what you have done because im sure there would be alot of people me included that would be interested in investing in a guide, so they could do the conversion their self.

Its probably alot of work for someone to modifiy a box for it, i was thinking of making them and selling as a kit so you just buy a swift engine and bolt it together.

and they shouldnt cost that much so it will probably be more realistic for most people just to by one than invest the time and money in doing it them selves.

Here's an approximation so you can see the size/height/positioning.

Being a complete novice to A series engine, how will you be getting the drive off the Swift & into the Mini gearbox?

there will be a crank adapter which will bolt to the swift engine where the flywheel would go, this then takes the mini drop/transfer gears, and from then on its normal mini stuff, clutch etc.

Its something else that is made to bolt to the swift engine, basically the end of a mini crank!! so the flywheel etc fits on normally!! :proud:

Havent really done any more on it apart from sticking it on the bench and adding the transfer case to check the gaps and crank line up,
as well as give you a better idea of the proportions involved,
and im happy to say it will probably only need moving about 1mm or so, but there is a slight clearance issue with the starter motor :proud:

But that means I would have to make a new subframe & work out how to reverse the gear mechanism. This method solves all these apart from not having 5 gears.

Alan...

If your still gonna put it in the back you'll still have to find a way of reversing the diff output, or use a series of rods and bell cranks to be able to change gear

Nice to see youve started this Ed

He won't have to Bounce because he already has the gear linkage to run the A series engine :proud:
