Im with panelbeaterpeter.
My dads run his bodyshop for 25 years, I spend most weekends working there and we use G3.
Its only any good if you have the right tools to use it with and some experience using it.
G3 may leave swirls and what not, but thats what you use the polishing wax after for. Which also gives the fresh paint some protection.
faded paint

Exactly. I don't get swirls using G3 But if you do, that's what anti swirl polish is for! and then wax it up of course.

just because you use something for 25yrs dont make it the best does it?
Do you think bently, veron etc use G3?
I am just saying he should go out and use a lighter cutting compound on the panel rather than use a heavy cutter and rub thru the paint.
As he himself has said, he hasnt used it before, so going by that, their is a good chance of rubbing thru.
Its better for him to take his time with a light/medium cut and not rub thru to primer, than use a heavy compound and go down to the primer.
Logic isnt it?

think i got to agree with smudger here, i want paint left on the panel and if im doing it myself i would prefer to take off as little as possible at one time.
i didnt even want to use T-cut at first
but thanks for the comments

mate
not trying to confuse you or anything, but a bit of time with AG SRP, elbow grease and that "should" bring up the colour.
Not seeing pics means we cant really say or see how bad it is.
This really does need pics.
But i would still go with something like a Soft Cut, followed by the Megs 3 system just to get the gloss back up and in the paint.
Have you seen bonnet i have buffed?
45yrs old and like a mirror now, pity about the rust, lol
