The fog/mist whatever it was is damp and makes the screen get wet :)

Sorry. Slightly O/T, but why would the wipers help in fog anyway? :)

Sorry to be of no help but this confused me :P

fog is water isnt it. when you drive through the for (mainly if its dense fog) the windscreen will have water droplets all over it and will reduce vision.

Just had a thought, the washers are still working is it still likely to be the fuse?

Just checked the fuse and that's ok. If anybody has any ideas what it might be, it would be really appreciated, have to get to work for 6 tomorrow and it's forecast rain :dozing:

You'll probably find that it is a faulty park switch (the white bit under the motor).

They have a tendency to pack up and either stop the wipers parking properly or else not work at all :dozing:

Beat me to it Touche,

My money's on the park switch too. That's the creamy white plastic bit on the wiper motor that makes sure the wipers stop at the bottom of the screen. It just slides in so a gently prise with a screwdriver and pushing to and fro should free it. quite often they'll respond to a spot of fiddling, push the little plunger in a few times and twist the case a little bit to free it off. If you're stuck, the wipers will work without it fitted they just won't park.

Otherwise it's out with a meter or test lamp to see where the volts stop flowing - start at the motor and work back.

Could also be due to the park switch or the wiring to it from the wiper motor. Perhaps the connections have come away through corrosion.

So check the state of the park switch and wires on the rear of the wiper motor.

Funnily enough it was exactly that >_< Some person with a chocolate toffee Danish addiction sorted it out for me on Saturday

Corroded connections are fun :)
