If its the new style shifter with the collar, unscrew the knurled collar on the linkage a little, its probably just pinching up.

can you not speak to KAD. Surely they would have the best solution, being the people that designed it. Theres clearly a mkII for a reason so im guessing its more the car/installation than the item.

I would bet money that it wants a bit of grease in it and the knurled cap unscrewing a tiny bit....

Unfortunately, a quickshift does not make the gearchange any quicker, just shorter... the actual speed of the gearchange is goverened by the mechanics of the gearbox.... If you try and change too quickly for the box you'll wear out the baulk rings at an accelerated rate, and end up with a more expensive repair bill than the 30 or 80 pounds you paid for the stick...

Another issue is, if you put a quickshift on an already 'not brilliant' box then it amplifies the problems with the box.

hmm i don't think its the box because it had all been fully rebuilt before i brought the engine
a couple of months ago, and it was fine with the standard gear stick.

yer i will put some more grease in it later and undo the knurled cap a bit, but i have
already tried unscrewing it and it doesn't really make a difference so i'm hoping more grease
will do the job! i will also ask kad whats going on with it.

i spoke to kad yesterday and they said the stick could be rubbing on the gear linkage plate
underneath but i checked that and it wasn't that so i put a big dollop of grease all over
and kept wiggling it around, and i'm glad to say all seems ok now :)
and i'm getting use to the quickshift now, it definently gives a more quality gear change!

hope it stays that way.
