well: huddersfield auto jumble was dismal. got a few old books & leaflets but that's about it.

front subframe - fell through so still looking.

more paint came off yesterday, fuel tanks coming out tonight along with rear light ready to be primered.

interiors sweeping out- and rubbing down also ready to be primered

thought id finally update ...

we now have a unit instead of a garage, to store my car over the winter our clubby and a fellow mini owner s store his sidewalk
it did have a well build office.

we ripped it out....


before we moved the clubby i primerd the decent back panal and the rear it turned out quite well for a spray can






anyway we got the clubby in took aged to get it onto the trailer.
but its in





main job was to get the engine out 1st

what we used to take the engine out

7 x scafolding poles
1 x winch
1 x rope

easy!









we had real trouble with the balljoints and the separating them from everything so on my orders as i was going to get the engine out that day said "grind it off"

ed wasnt too pleased llook at his face =P



after all the faffing and cutting things off we shouldnt the engine was out .

Can I ask where are you thinking of get it painted? as i'm in need of finding a painter for a reasonable price

front subframes off,
all car is now primered
well, ineterior to finish off ready for spray. get pad on tuesday so i can by some bits!!

Yours is looking ace, the paint stripping looks messy, i did a boot with that stuff and that was horrible to do lol. dunno if i could do a hole car with it.

rear subframe out, pretty much every bolt shreaded.





perfect rear valance









just getting all the C**p off the bottom now, found loads of shodddy welding so thats gonna be a pain to fix, but we got a guy whos gonna do it

p.s we have an engine block too and the front subframe is getting sandblasted and poweder coated today, pics follow

yeah its messy but its soooooooooooo fun, and we would love a webasto but its just getting it fitted =[ pain in the bum xx

Great work! looking like a Beast in bare metal and primer, im at the same stage on mine now, awaiting welding and lots of holes and primer! will be watching this project, keep up the good work!

well we got a quote for all our welding and a respray on the side for a guy who works in a bodyshop specialising in minis for £1300 so my lady will be saving for that while i attempt to build an engine

got the subframe done today so i can get started

well it's coming on a treat. whole car is primered, underseal is complete off, underneath is looking good, just need to get it off its side & do the finishing touches then it can go off to the sprayman

Looks great you know before you primered it did you red oxide it? I have been told if you take it back to bare metal you have to treat it with something? Is this true? |
