actually . if you havent had a tax exempt disc before you will have to pay a full years amount to get the disc. THEN you get the DVLA to refund you the amount.

then in the years after that you can just renew it for nothing.

(at least thats what my g/f is having to do with the Minus)... stupid if you ask me.

Mine was first registered in 1984, on a P plate, but year of manufacture was 1976. Still have no idea what went on there.

It's probably to catch people out who have old cars but don't know about classic car tax so they end up paying the full tax when they don't need to.
