Well i had a few days off work so i decide to fit the right hand petrol tank i got from Jammy. I didnt want to buy the fitting kit as it is quite expensive. so after a brainwave i thought i could use some ally strip from the local diy shop.
It turned out like this:
quite chuffed and i have a bit of ally left over to make rad bracket for the K100 conversion when it is fitted.
I also finally got the mini on the road by VERY roughly setting the toe in/out and driving down to the tyre shop to get them to sort it out. it was a pig to drive down but a joy to drive back. drove it straight for almost 3 days!! was great to be driving it again and having disc brakes on the front makes a massive difference.
I also ordered my kit from SC for the K conversion. and a touring steady from them aswell.
Also i started cleaning up one of the sets of throttle bodies that i am going to use. have started painting a few bits and bobs aswell. not sure on the colour of the engine yet but i am going to have black detailing on all the small parts. alt bracket, parts on the throttle bodies, head cover, etc

Hey! That RH tank looks pretty darn sweet, nice DIY strap too.
Got your PM earlier, there is a bit that fits over the splines, but I believe that was already on the steering rack, and my attempts to remove it when I was taking the Mountney boss off were futile, so I just assumed it was part of the steering column. I'll have another bash at it later...

You need an 1/8 NPT T piece and a couple of male-male adaptors to fit this T piece onto the one you get with turbo oil feed, you'll then have 3 outlets.
I ditched my oil pressure switch as my eyes are generally glancing over at the presure gauge instead, as you can tell when the oil is getting hot etc...

went to the shop again to have a chat about the engine and probable ways forward. the block has been bored to just under +80 so there is room for the final hone. just need to get the block skimmed and then do a dry build for the piston cuts and also work out the CR.
few pics f the block with all the holes now blocked up.

are the blockings still sitting over the deck at the mo? why it needs decking
still needs extra drillings done too? your doing dry deck conversion arent you?
