sorry, a bit off the current topic of the minus, but i just wondered how much insurance on a bike engined mini is different to the insurance of a mini (A series engine)?

Thanks

wow .. not read that before ... goood info that
and bike sounding real sweet... real quick respone to ya throttle it sounds !!
the acceloration is gonna be unbeliveable !

anyhows i will have to get the tape mesure out .. that will be the defo way to get the figure..
i was under the impression that it was only 3" from the body section ... that has been shortened, of course .. with its styling u can have the body lower anyhows.. so thus will be overall shorter ...

i will have to get it side by side with my real mini to get a comparison picture .. but belive me it aint 6" !! ... it is a MARKED dif thou :dontgetit:
one way u can instantly see is were the fuel filer neck is .. which is ABOVE the normal line around the car .. were its normally below it ..

i gonna set up some kinda Minus info site 'soon' !
with all the 'kown' minus's that are known of ..
we are at about 14 unique minus's so far .. wich aint alot
look back about 5 pages u can see the thread that was started to track um down ... there were 250 to 500 made, but no real figure to be sure of...

Mick ...

The impression I got was if you were to sit both bodyshells on the floor the Minus would be 6" lower but hey I can only go by what I read. It's the only bit of black and white info I've ever seen about them! :P

And the insurance quote for mine is £335!! Fully comp 5000miles ltd mileage. So not too bad! (basically insured as a kit car but they know what it is!)

thanks for that ade, i just wondered because i was thinking about saving my pennies for a Z-Cars kit, but as im only 18 i wanted to know if it would be worthwhile with the price that i would have to pay for the insurance.

Thanks for the info anyway

I'm not sure there's quite enough of us yet for that..... but we're getting there

I gotta say I can't wait for it to be finished so I can start finding out things like what it weighs how it handles etc etc :fear:

Plus the old arguement about how it'll compare to Pete's pickup..... :nugget:

Weight - We both think mine will be lighter but will be intrigued by how much..... Although mine is fibreglass and small his doesn't have all the roof and stuff of a normal mini.....

Straight line speed - again I think this'll come down to weight...... will have to get someone else driving mine..... :nugget:

Handling - This is very subjective.... his has a longer wheelbase so should be a bit more stable through the faster corners but then mine should have a lower centre of gravity and be a bit lighter?!? So it's anyones guess really!!

Anyhoo neither of us are that bothered as they'll be a whole bunch of fun anyway! :dontgetit: :P
