Did chris have to have your shell for a while to fabricate the rollcage etc as you shell is lower than a standard one?I'm not sure there's quite enough of us yet for that..... but we're getting there
I gotta say I can't wait for it to be finished so I can start finding out things like what it weighs how it handles etc etc :fear:
Plus the old arguement about how it'll compare to Pete's pickup..... :nugget:
Weight - We both think mine will be lighter but will be intrigued by how much..... Although mine is fibreglass and small his doesn't have all the roof and stuff of a normal mini.....
Straight line speed - again I think this'll come down to weight...... will have to get someone else driving mine..... :nugget:
Handling - This is very subjective.... his has a longer wheelbase so should be a bit more stable through the faster corners but then mine should have a lower centre of gravity and be a bit lighter?!? So it's anyones guess really!!
Anyhoo neither of us are that bothered as they'll be a whole bunch of fun anyway!![]()
I would love to see some closeups in the back of the pickup to see how the kit fits in there and how the cage goes through to the front etc???
Cheers Mark :wales:

There is a thread on here for the pickup. It's probably a couple of pages down as I havn't added anything to it recently. The rear of the cage is fitted exactly the same as all the rest. The only difference is the two holes cut into the rear of the cab to allow the cage to pass through. The front section has been made detachable and bolts to the rear section. Its also a bit longer to make up for the extra wheel base. I've added a pic taken early in the build.
Pete
Oh, almost forgot. It's also made out of 1" bigger tubing than standard. Chris thought the standard size tubes looked a bit silly as mine are on show rather than hidden inside the car.

Is it the same as the minus was before?
Or will it be a 'kit' car and have to have an SVA test?
I am curious as (depending on tonights lottery results) I would like to buy a minus when I can afford to!

Yes it certainly is very Minus a lot of things........ :fear:It's still a Minus...... Minus some wieght, Minus some floor, Minus an A series, Minus those rear drums.......
It's identity is a 1975(P) Morris Mini 998. It's still got a 998 in it :cheese: I've changed the engine number on the V5 so all legal
The reason I bought the shell was because it's all been approved by the DVLA to have the same identity even though it was effectively re-shelled. So just an MOT for me when it's finished
And Pooky the car is definatley Minus some weight!!

Just not with me in it! :nugget:
