Tinted glass doesn't come into the MOT. It's only if you get pulled that it could be a problem. I'm working on the assumption that any copper will be too busy working out what it is than to worry about what colour the windows are.Been doing some research, and found out that tinted glass (for pre '78 cars) has to allow 70% or more light transmission. All I need to do now is find out whether the supplier I have lined up has got any data to this effect.
Is Pete willing to take the gamble then? :fear:
D.D.
Besides, I won't be MOT'ing it untill next year and if anything else goes wrong it will probably be scrapped before it even reaches the road.

Now as well as rebuild the engine i've got to refit an arch and repaint half the car.

Mine failed initially on steering rack movement loose anti roll bar drop link and loose ball joint on front hub.
But the garage in question went on to sort these problems (although I'm going to revisit the steering rack soon) and it passed!!
It is however currently undergoing review of things to do.
There are a number of little niggles that need sorting.
On the plus side the initial indication of how she drives is F***ing awesome!! Have taken a few people out and the general reaction is just speechless!! just a couple of sounds coming from them but no words at all!
Have been talked to by a number of people in the petrol station and the garage all very pleasant who just wanted to know what on earth was in it!
But on the to do list......
Sort throttle return (under sprung at the mo so throttle doesn't shut of as quick as I'd like)
Slight oil leak from the clutch housing  When the original bike was dropped this was damaged so needs a bit of working on.
New connector for the Neutral light indicator ( thought I'd lost 1st and neutral today as there was no light) Then Pete came to the rescue (again
The temp switch for the fan needs a bit of a play as I'm not convinced it's working exactly as it should but then I think we also need to change the position of the water temp sender.
Steering rack as I mentioned earlier needs a good checking over to see why there was movement and then stop that from happening again.
The oil pressure sender wire is a bit loose and needs sorting as thats a bit iffy at the mo.
And the brakes just need bedding in some more then possibly re-bleeding.
So not too bad except for the steering rack :fear: Could end up being a subframe drop to get to the u bolts :nugget:

Will be sorting niggles before to much more serious running about. Main one to worry about is the oil pressure gauge.... don't want to lose oil pressure and not know about it..... :fear:
