anyone know if its possible to get short term insurance at the age of 20?

I get a quote of £350 fully comp, but i dont want to fork that out for that when i just need to drive it 20miles to the workshop on a single day

I think it would be easier to rent a trailer, or borrow one.

Looks like an engine out job to fix.

Something is banging inside the clutch area when i got it running. Its also got a manifold blow.

I am gunna
1) fix the engine
2) paint the pink bits black
3) see if i can get a n/s sill welded in cheap enough
4) see if i can get the rear valence welded in cheap enough
5) Rebuild it with all the chrome and bumpers etc back on.
6) Might stick 12months mot on it.
7) Decide to keep it or sell it

Quick fit captive engine mounts bought £7.50
Boot floor repair panel £5

Mick from Micks Mini's (Gateshead Only Mini Specialist) will be putting the car on his flat bed recovery truck on sunday. Taking it around 20miles to its new home for 4 weeks. In the restoration club, it will have the engine removed, the clutch/flywheel/stater fault diagnosed and fixed. A N/S outer sill replaced, repairs to the rear valence and possibly boot floor. The roof, bonnet and side strips will also all be painted matt black. Then its MOT checks, if its gunna pass, it will get 12months ticket.

Then it can be sold on to a lovely new owner ready for use/2008 :)

Not much done today really.

Got it on axle stands, but didnt start on the engine due to doing TukTuk's hi-lo's with him.

Just had a quick prod with a hammer on the sill.

Shame about the bodge job they did on the sills. Looks more like expanding foam to me though
