fibreglass and foam by the looks. Rear end is like it too.

I'll do a proper job on it though, new sills and valence etc to go on it.

Its just the front part of the sill and abit of the door step. Looks solid underneath which is a good thing.

Ill get the engine done 1st, then worry about the body work.

No worries tom bud.

I arent that bothered about the doors and stuff which have been skimmed. The sills and boot floor which it would fail on a MOT are the main priority. Changing a door is dead easy compared to welding on sills etc. Bloody boy racer, bodging it up.

Engine ready to be lifted. Should have been out yesterday, but the gearlinkage rollpin is stuck solid, then my rollpin went inside the hole and got stuck solid too. Going to cut the linkage today (can get another for a fiver) so i can get the engine out.

Dont know if you can tell by the picture, I am using a proper engine removal bracket which I have the lend of.

Everything came apart pretty well, the suspension seems in good nick as I had to jack up the top arm to free the top ball joint. Should find out today whats wrong inside the flywheel /clutch housing.

Shame about the fibreglassed sills, but I've heard a number of people use expanding foam to infill the sills with.

Stevie painting the bonnet in 2pac black for a test code (trial idea at this point, see below)
Posted Image

Just finished gearlinkage, bleeding brakes, exhaust bracket fitting etc
Posted Image

Hour or two after painting, reflection in paint pic. Note the dust etc doesnt matter, as it was only a test.

Compare.... (sorry bad light)

NOW THEN!!!!!

After painting the bonnet, we've decided to paint the whole car again.

Gloss black with a metallic silver roof

The windows are out, the N/S sill has been cut off and preped for replacement.

Not that I don't like Matt black, it can look awesome on certain cars, but the gloss black looks much better!!

haha, higher profit if it looks nice. So spend a bit to make abit, but i may just keep it.

Been chopping the rear valence and more bodge out today, but called in a early finish as its been a couple of full days so far.

TUKTUK, COME DOWN ON SAT AND HAVE A LOOK. LOOKS DIFFERENT WITH A SHINY BONNET AND PANELS MISSING ETC.

Ask him if he will.

The paint we bought the for the bonnet was supposed to be matt black, but its not by looks. We are going to get a fresh 2 litres of glossy black from a different supplier, to make sure we have enough and so we dont need to colour match half way through etc .

So the 1st lot of paint is spare, so you can use that if hes got time to do it.

You'd probally have to do without your car for a day or 2, so the paint can harden and set in the spray booth.
