They tried to clean the concrete out of the truck using explosives. Mythbusters is excellent they do all the stuff we would like to do but cant because we either dont have time or it is ilegal in this country

i remember bouncing on a scaffold pole trying to undo my nuts (no pun intended). in the end i just angle grinded the nut and most of the thread off in anger! i was replacing both outer cv's anyway. doesn't help you though........

Was thinking today I mean if you are gonna replace most of wats beyond that nut, why not just take an angle grinder to it and buy a new CV?

I usually split the nut with a hammer & chisel to cut through at the thinnest points when they're this tight.

as a matter of course, and if you dont know how old the CV's are (i see you mentioned the car has sat for 2 years).
For the sake of 50 quid more, i'd be VERY tempted to replace/overhaul all of the components there, saves you hassle again later on!

Mine came off by putting the wheel back on and back on the ground with handbrake on into gear and a foot on the brake with a 6ft ext bar. If all else fails try grinding part of the nut away to weaken the thread wall or grind a slot in tye nut and chisel it off but careful of the threads.
