Doesn't seem right, not for a mini anyway. Imagine the work involved.
Is the flappy paddle that good then Mr Jammy? Ye' olde top gear crew never seemed to like it....well not on anything other than a £100,000+ sports car.

It works by having two clutches, one to hold the gear your in, and one holds the gear it thinks your next going to need. So when the time comes its almost instantaneous - 8 milliseconds to upshift! I believe it takes about a tenth of the time to shift when compared to rival designs from Ferrari, Porsche, etc!

Your right though, to do an engine conversion with the Audi TT engine would be quite a lot of work!

The Audi one is the decent (generally) one though, when they tested the Audi TT (that has it as an option) they said it works at least (I don't think they like paddle shifts in general, so didn't want to big it up too much).

Almost right Jammy, It actually has two clutches that are constantly spinning the gear one for the odd geras and the other for the even. Thatway whatever gear you are going for is already up to speed! Is an amazing system, was very impressed when i took my old boss's A3 out for a spin, you can just keep you foot flat to the floor and shift! no lag whatsoever! It's so good that when they built the Bugatti Veyron they put one of the audi DSG Gearboxes on it!
As for teh mini, someone did do a sequential box a couple of years ago and it was for sale but it was something like £6k!!
