£1500, remove the engine from the car and swap the gearboxes over and put the engine back in, add anywhere up to £500 for some one to do the work.

Someone should add that there is little to no point for most situations.

Mini Speed? Errrm, no. They haven't got the wherewithall to make one themselves and after recent events I very much doubt they'll be stocking Jack Knight products again.

Mini Spares are the only people making a 5 speed helical synchromesh box now. Mini Sport and JKD also made them in the past but not any more, you may find second hand ones though. The JKD box was the best by far and was fitted by John Cooper Garages to their Cooper Sport 5 and very nearly fitted to every ERA Turbo until Rover refused to warranty the car if it was fitted (ERA Turbos were supposed to be fully warrantied as they were available from all Rover dealers unlike the Cooper conversion).

Mini Spares also do a straight cut synchro version.
If you want a straight cut dog box you can get a KAD one which is really expensive but the only 5 speed still available with a direct top gear.
JKD still do 5 speed straight cut dog boxes too I believe but I think they have now dropped the 6 speed.
I think that's all of the options.
