If you do a search for 'starter button' or 'starter switch' quite a few results will turn up :)

ok deffently looks like im looking for a switch that connects to the ignition wires so although i turn the key the car still wont start untill the switch is on.
is this a simple case of putting a normal flip switch on one of the major ignition wires ?
are there anygood switches ot use ?
how would i connect it ? simple case of cutting the wire and then conecting each side to one of the sides of the switches ?

something like this ? http://minisport.com...o_GRAGE345.html
actualy maybe somehting liek this http://minisport.com...nfo_LMA726.html would be less obveius
thanks again

ok so what i got from that thread is if all i wnat to do is make sur enothign can work untill that switch is on i need to chop the white wire in half and ptu a switch in this way the switch would not only have to be turned to crank the engine but also in order for th eradio wipers and such to be used am i correct ? is it realy that simple?

EDIT: actualy is it the brown wire i nee dot do that with ? grrr htis is to technical for a sunday night would you belive i done A leavel physics and product design as well lol

lol
ok so its the brown wire i need to cut in order to make an "isolater switch"? this would leave me to use the key for turning of steering lock and also the final start will be done by the key going all the way like normal

so the order of starting the car would be

1=key in and turn to disable steering lock
2= flip switch to power up all electric components ( the same as tunring the key the extra notch on a normal system)
3= turn key all the way to turn over the engine ?

am i right ?

the probelm with following that thread i cant see which bit applies ot me i belive its just the last section on that website you showed me but it dosnt show a diagram

hook your green and white wire to your brown wire.

the white wires need to go to both switches.

the red and white wire go to the actual starter button.

almost-

1 is right
2 is right
3 is wrong! do not pass go, or collect 100 pounds.

you key will just turn your steering lock off. i flick the switch up to "arm" electrical stuff, fuel pump, wipers etc.. i hit the push button to start crank the engine over. the reason being is there would be no wires attached to your ignition barrel any more.

do you want to keep you ignition barrel for electircal stuff and have a separate button just to start it? or all on buttons?
