Ho ho ho, theres another one.

Gauranteed that the bolts were torqued to the wrong setting!!

s funny but alll torque settings were adhered to.

Where was the information taken from regards the torque setting for these bolts and what was the value?

We've seen this a lot before on here. People thinking the Haynes listing for the pressure plate to flywheel bolts means the flywheel to hub bolts. It doesn't and Haynes doesn't guote a value for them, neither does the Rover manual. This is because the new pressure plates were always sold with the hub already fitted at the factory so nobody needed to fit one. Hubs are rare now and I don't think anybody is casting new ones so they don't come with a three piece clutch kit any more. From the photos that's definitely where Ollie180 and Jordie's have failed and while I can't say how tight you did them, it is usually low torque that causes this. Suffice to say, 18 lbft isn't enough. Not having seen pictures of Fifi's clutch I can't say for sure that this is where it's failed but it is the most common thing. Although this flange should never have any kind of lock washers so you might be talking about another part. Have to say though that to say the standard lock washers are obviously not up to the task is a bit of a sweeping statement since they work just fine on thousands of tuned and standard Minis all over the world.
