very nice. Are you going to get him to make up 2 manifolds? may be cheaper and then you can sell the other manifold with the 2carbs u don't use... just a suggestion

I dont think it will be possible to use the other two carbs, as the two end carbs (the ones im planning on using), one has the throttle linkage and the other has the tps on it, so to be able to use the other two, they would need these fitted.

Nice work, good luck :D

Looking to make a start on my project soon. Engine and front sub out in the same op seems a good idea. Any pitfalls as I'm thinking along the same lines?

I dont think so, should go fine aslong as you've got enough room to move it all about. Obviously the use of an engine crane was a great help, and a jack to move the engine from under the car.

Also, i suppose you could see, but the weight of the car bent the slam panel (which didnt matter to me).

Right, couple of proper updates (its been a long time since the last)

As can be seen, my cars now in the vauxhall section

2nd update is, il be going down to london today to collect a few very nice (big) bits which i thought were bargains, so i can actually get the projet moving again.

I shall have pictures when i return. >_<

Right, after my day out, ive actually got something to show for it:

Safety Devices 6 Point Fia Approved Cage with rollcentre door bars. All for what i thought was a bargain price of £150

Watsons Extended Front Which i paid £100 for

Tomorrow i might have a go at clearing all the unwanted bits out of the car and fitting the cage in there.

I will be shortly, but theres not much "16valveness" in the project at the moment. so as soon as there is, i definately will be. :-

Thanks mate, hopefully things will be moving along a bit quicker soon.

Been thinking about driveshafts today, didnt know if it was wiser to go for the allspeed billet driveshafts aswell as their CV joints, but ive already got a set of calibra ones. hmm, can i afford the price of the billet ones?

Also, looking for a set of coilovers, so i can get the car on its wheels when the frame is finished. So if anyone has any, they would be much help indeed.

Hopefully get the final bit of the front end removedtomorrow, then i need to start patching the holes i found in the inner wings. When that will be though i dunno.

Removed all the glass from the car:

Got the other half of the rollcage fitted:

All i need to do to the rollcage now is get some more nuts and bolts and bolt it up tight, then i can make up some spreader plates and fit it to the shell.

Another small update i suppose, got the rollcage tightened up and bolted down, and the fits not great, but ok.

Also decided that i will probably tub the rear arches when i do the boot floor, so i can get the car as low as id like to run it.

Still waiting for the call from allspeed. Im not impatient, honestly
