My boyfriend has a 1973 bay called Monty! Gun metal and silver with alloys, love it! Went round France in the summer in it, 3,500 miles, with not a single problem, well apart from the hand brake throwing an occasional spark! haha was happily cruising at 80 on the moterways, it has a 1.6 Vege engine (?!?!) or something? And we went around the Nurburgring as well so he now is the proud owner of a sticker!!
Your dads will look ace when its done!! And then will be able to go Vanfest and G.O.T.H in it, camping in VW's rules!!

stick with the westy interior as they are a good lay out we are basing ours on this style
full rock and roll bed for the 3 of us
i have a new (recon) 1600cc with single webber progressive carb 4 into 1 headder and single quiet pack exhaust
we can do 60-65 mph on motorways but loose some speed on cornish hills
i have Dolly my bus in the projects section and i find justkampers a good source of parts and forum

Looks awesome!
My dad actually said how solid it was, reckoned that model has a double floor skin or something? And theyre both still there which is a rarity?
On the motor side. Im sure Ive seen brand spankers in the magazines for very little money? Like £400-500?
Wouldnt bother rebuilding one for that money!
He going back to original colours then?
