Found out the gearbox had a later bell housing on it
So he's exchanged the whole thing for an earlier box also picked up some drive shafts

some people change the box for later/beetle ones for better motorway cruising, you might be removing something that is better

It was the same gearbox as we have now, Just the bell housing had been swapped for a later model engine on the last gearbox so it did'nt fit onto the engine, and the clutch assembley was wrong. All will hopefully be well now...

Right, Engines back out, Dad realized we didn't have some tin ware! We didnt have the ducting from the Oil cooler, with ours being an earlier bus then the engine, we had to cut the tin ware to suit it too.
Brought proper panel for the job from VW heritage. absolutely terrible fit :S
Either way, its all done now. Jobs to be done before the engines back in for the last time...
-Fit gearbox cover seal to the shell
-Fit throttle cable housing
-Paint abit more tin ware
-Clean the carb up, take the gash air filter off
-Do something with the dynamo, but what?
-Fit a few mroe seals, then its back in.
Hopefully get a lot of these jobs done tonight. Then it can go back in at the weekend
