When you talked about Jammy's test method you said "top four" terminals or something similar. DON'T go by position on the switch. The MGB schematic numbers the hazard switch terminals. See if your hazard switch terminals are numbered. If not, try my suggestion to identify which four switch terminals are connected to each other when the hazard switch is on. The turn signal flasher circuit should pass through on the OTHER two switch terminals.

It's quite OK to talk about the late rocker hazard switch as having groups of terminals, I know you might not have seen the switch DK but it's obvious when you see it what does what. There are two distinct groups of terminals on the switch, one group of two and one group of four. When the switch is off the group of two are interconnected, when it's on the group of four are interconnected. They are not numbered. The socket is equally simple to work out, wire colours are the best thing to go by to be certain in the absence of numbering.

Thanks Dan. Not having seen one "up close" it's good to get confirmation.

It should be possible for Big_Adam to start from the switch and work "downstream" to see where he's loosing power to the lights.

I think at this point its going to be easiest and quickest to do as DK says; grab your multimeter, stick the indicator on then test the relevant wire from the switch all the way to the indicator to find out where you have power and where you don't.

Well, from my wire map the rear indicators split to make the front ones.

Rears work, fronts don't. So anyone got a clue where the join.......

......

......

......

I hacked the front loom out of my old car. So all the wires where loose and free.

I may have been very very very stupid and nipped the wire for the front lights. Which is now hanging free and easy.

I know what I'm checking tomorrow.

Ah yes,

Update.

I'M A MORON AS I CUT THE WIRE.

Ahem,

Just need to get the sidelights working now. I think it's the same problem.

Signed,

To be honest, the way the looms are wired/wrapped makes this an easy mistake to make. The wire for the indicators comes from the switches in the cockpit out into the loom, and is routed towards the front of the car first, then it is spliced and the wires feeding the rear indicators is bundled in a group which runs back past the fusebox towards the back of the car, so it is difficult to trace what you would expect to be a wire going from switch to rear....

Just my tuppence-worth :withstupid:
