the performance of a 1430 compared to your cooper will scare you, even when your running it in.

id rather have the turbo option aswell 1293 turbo more power better fuel consumption when on vacume/off boost
dunno about cheepness depense how much work you do and how cheep you can get parts ect.

depends what your into, id like to have a turbo, but not in a mini, appretiate the concept but i like a weber roar

by the way 7 ports shouldnt have too much problems with shaired ports due to the fiering order not being sequential to each other being 1-3-4-2 there a gap between each exhaust stroke on the shared port
more torque with cross flow head, and using stroked engine ie 1430 will also give nice torque
