Your mini is awesome, as has been said before your dash, and all other alloy bits in fact look so factory!

I bet you could sell those foot plates and dashs all day long!

Found your mini at crich mate, got a few snaps and it really is as nice in the flesh as the pictures show!
Too shy to come over and say hi / intro myself but did say a passing alright later in the day! Was in bright green shirt, and the most work in progress mini there, matt black with red door and white fibre glass front

I've been having problems with oil spitting out of the crank case breathers at high revs so decided I'd pipe in an oil catch tank to keep the engine bay oil free.
Looked on Demon Tweaks and laughed at the price of a poxy alloy catch tank, put the catalogue down and got my thinking cap on.

I came up with this... One £1.99 alloy water bottle, a £3.99 push bike bottle holder, some spear hosing and connections that were laying around in the garage and the little filter I had from the crank case breather before.

Here’s how it looks..

Attached File  bottle1.jpg   42.13K   41 downloads

Attached File  bottle2.jpg   23.43K   17 downloads

Attached File  rocker1.jpg   17.3K   16 downloads

Attached File  engine.jpg   77.57K   132 downloads

The breather close to the fan is piped up to the rocker cover throwing the oil back into the engine, the breather on the clutch side is piped to the oil catch tank and the braided hose that also goes into the catch tank acts as a breather for the rocker cover because of the added pressure from the fan side breather.

Make any sense? Looked at quite a few engines with catch tanks and that’s a similar set up. Seems to be working just fine.

Clever clever clever, and neat too, what sort of high revs are we talking about? What does your mini happily pull up to?

If I'm really going for it I can rev it to 7200rpm if I hit 7300rpm the engine screams and hits complete limit.

Sounds awesome at 5 - 6000rpm, my hearing just about explodes at 7..haha

80mph in 3rd at about 7000rpm
