Saw in a mini mag (not sure which one!!) that a guy had put in a full set of BMW 3 series convertable seats in red leather. the rear ones looked particulary good... bit expensive tho' I'll bet

they look very tall...

They are 745mm without subbies, so not that tall perhaps its the angle of the picture, they are designed for 7 style roadsters (caterhams, locosts, westfields etc) so if they were to big would cause problems in those types of vehcles too.

Classics without headrest are 560mm so with headrests probably 660mm again without subframe

And these are 800mm (without subframe) but do have tilting backs

Rover 800 Vitesse Recaros fit. No tilt mechanism though as they are from a 4 door car.

Very comfy :shifty:

same as mine, they are very confy!!

How did you fit them??

I cut all the unecessary bracketry off the seat runners and then riv-nutted them to the cross members (I have a second crossmember running about 8 inches behind the original). Kept the height adjuster on the drivers side too

Trial fitted last night and they fit a treat, loads of space around them due to there small foot print and rear access better than in my fatpack.

Sub frames will need tinkering with as the sit very low, back rest angle looks very laid back but it appears to be an optical illusion as the position feels spot on.

Good list - I started reading because my neighbour's son has wrapped his Rover 25 around
a tree in our street and while I was very sorry and for him I couldn't help starting to eye his
nice half leather interior as my project is nearing the stage where I can start having fun with the cosmetics.
It looks like it would fit but for a week or so I need to be a bit subtle and understanding (the guy is livid beyond description)
so I can't go measuring - does anyone know if it will fit ?

Thanks
Monty

Porsche 911 seats - looking a bit tatty, but they will get re-upholstered one day...
Posted Image

They fit very well, although very close on the rear side panel (modified the drivers side on mine a bit) as they are a bit wide.
Super comfortable, I shall be able to travel for several hours without any pain >_<

how much where they!?

Well... I got them for free :proud: :D I used to work for Porsche and I collected them from a 911 to be crashed. I have them now for nearly 15 years, intend to fit them into my next project, re-upholstered then.

how is rear access??

Rear access is okay, not perfect, but okay. You have to move the seat forward as much as possible, then tilt the back. Leg room on the back seats of course depends on how far to move them backwards.
