Hey guys and girls.

well....

where to start....
I posted in another topic regarding what I been up too...

Posted other thread here

It basicly said,
New Job... New car needed... or... do I fix old one...

anyway,
Got a new Job, (Photography Executive, for Thomas Cook) start on the 19/11/07
Everyone... and I mean everyone told me. to wait, or get a cheap car (run around)
while I save up and get to work,

well....
I couldnt see myself driving, a... metro, micra, golf... I just couldnt do it, being a MINI FAN!

so I wanted to borrow around £1000-£1500 for a good mini with a MOT/TAX..
so I spent hours looking for mini's each day,

A few popped up.
one which was really nice, but the kid selling it was in a hurry and sold it to someone who gave him cash A.S.A.P
(mind you I saw the same car on there a month before, different ebayer)

so... well... that sold.

so kept looking,
most of the mini's I liked was around £2000-£4000 :withstupid:

then I saw this one,
The seller was about 22miles away, looked at his rating... 0 feedback, so best email and ask if he is genuine...
the car looked good... but was it too good to be true... (lets see)

well.. he was, and I wont go into personal details, but was a nice bloke via email.
So I wanted it. (and when I want something, I cant wait, big kid)

I offered £1300, he said he would do it, but if I wanted to come down before and see it.
I couldnt make that sunday, and said I just wait till the auction ends.

Monday comes.... I bid, get outbidded, with 5 seconds to go... I bidded again, just winning by £20 (you can view the ebay listing here)

I was happy... but... scared... Everyone in my family.. told me to wait.
(I couldnt, and.. well had a gut feeling I would be ok)

brother telling me to phone the bloke cancel, dad, mum mad! telling me I should have asked first. (not my money you see)
All family members said I shouldnt have bidded and gone for it, thinking it was too good to be true and without a MOT/TAX.
Mum wanting to kick me out (still does)

I can see there points, But from what I could see, and what I was told from him... I had to bid...
Just had a feeling... you know.

Cut a Long story short...

Steve the bloke I bought it off, worked on it for 5 years in a tiny garage.
has had taken everything appart...painted it, or fitted new parts. amazing!
I would have never had the time or patience to do it. (I can only learn from this, truely inspirational)
he worked on it... 5 YEARS!

this was for his son as his car, and his son... same age of me passed at 17 driving, didnt want it :/ (NOT LIKE ME)
I couldnt believe he didnt want it.... (well and personal issue's with family forced sale)

Here is my New baby - £1370 cost me.
998cc mini mayfair

was original black :(
now... I love WHITE!

Im so so happy :o
This has too be one of the best buys and bargins I ever bought.
And it has made me feel good now, as this time last year I was in alot of pain with hopsital stuff.
and Good things do happen in the end. for me... it is FATE.

so I had to buy this aswell.
as I said to myself, If I won the car I would buy this Jacket too...

So....

What do you guys and girls think

I dont want to take any credit from Steve, he said I could, but I said no... He has done a AMAZING JOB!
I sent a Thank you email few hours ago, when I got her home.

im going to put it through the MOT the weekend, and hopefully drive it next week.

I need to sort out... if anyone has any tips?

BEST INSURENCE?
BEST ALARM?
and.... What do you think its Value is?
I think £2500-£3000 myself as I need to get it insured value and take pics off it.
I want to make sure its protected from theft, alarm, cut off, locks, everything...

needs some work. (not much)
needs speedo fixing, and belt clasp, and rear fog light...
and it needs TUNING.
everything else... far as I see is awsome! - the car is NEW!
once its on the road, Im going to contact MINI MAG. (as its really nice when you see it in person)

Dont you... think...
Worth asking auntie and uncle to lend me some cash, while I work it off...
never will I ever see a mini like it on ebay... and for this price.

I got a bit of a bargin, I cant wait to go to mini shows now!!!!!!!!
so expect this mini to be hopefully at many mini shows. and maybe even get in the mini magazine next year

cheers,
Cezare White

(yes... C on the number plate, and the car is WHITE!)

Congrats! You must be on cloud 9 (or 15, or 27, or something). I've nicked the underneath view for my desktop. It's so cheerful!

Thanks yea.
It is so clean underneath you can eat your dinner off it.

its a really nice mini, I may have to just use it for special occasions...

might be too nice to drive to work everyday. (so may use a old mini)
or get a cheap car... we see...

insurence is about £400-£600 so far for me. (I think)
