Overall he's a lovely looking mini.... really nice theme and a good amount of work done on it for the money, well done :withstupid:

Here comes my perfectionist nature; there are some really bad bits of bodywork (lumpy filler) on the front left and the rear of the car, that stick out a mile just from your pics, they need sorting out ASAP.... Oh and a nice set of seats wouldn't go a miss, then you WILL have a perfect mini :o (I only made my comments as all the others out weigh my negative points) hehe

Also:

I cant wait to go to mini shows!
this mini is too nice to work everyday.

There's no such thing! My mini was restored to a 'better than new' standard, but I drive her every day.... that's what cars are built for mate! Don't just use it for shows... enjoy your life, and drive it every where. Just make sure you get it waxoyled and wash and polish it every week or so over the winter to get the salt off!

He's a really lovely mini and well worth what you paid........ :(

thank you for the kind comments :o

Yes my dad noticed a few blemishes and touch ups needed, but overall, I love it.
he still done a very good job. and his profession isnt a car sprayer, he is one of those guys who takes everything off and fixes, paints and puts it back.

Im scared in some ways to use it everyday.
its my first car which is show condition, and I dont want to ruin it. (want to keep it for years)
I will definitly wax and polish it every week.

I want to protect it inside and oustide as much as I can. any tips??
including alarms, cutt offs, and so on? what should I look out for...

You won't like this idea, but the first thing I would look at is the under side of the car..... has it been coated with stone guard before being painted in those lovely bright colours? If not, the first time you drive over a bit of loose tarmac or gravel you'll get stones flicking up and hitting the underside of the car, chipping the paint off... leading to rust! So check that first....

We always use Toad alarms, they're brilliant for the money.

I just had a thought about the interior.... My Dad has had a new set of blue and white vinyl seat covers kicking about for ages... he wouldn't want much for them and they would look great in your mini! We're actually only just down the road from Wisbech, so if you're interested, drop me a PM, I might even be persuaded to help you fit them if you want them :(

oh right, you live close to me then :(
if you can take some pics of the covers, sure. I'll take alook, but...

im not suppose to buy anything now for awhile :o
got to pay everyone back, and work my butt off

I was looking at TOAD, Cat 1's on ebay about £100 on own, or £200 fitted, so may get one of those in a few weeks before x-mas we see.

The underneath im not sure whats been done.
We have a friend over the road, who does car restoration and knows all about cars, so im sure he tell me what to do.
from what I been told it only needs Waxoyl underneath, so I shall do that next week.

I just rung my Dad, you're more than welcome to have the set of seat covers for free if you want them, they're royal blue with white centres... certainly not the best quality out there, but they should go straight over the seat bases that are already in the mini :o

I'll send you some pics this week when I've been over and raided their house :withstupid: (you might not even like the idea)

If you decide to have them, I've done lots of interiors, so my offer still stands to help you with fitting some time.......

What a nice looking mini!!!! :)

One thing I would say is, I think that the spotlights covering the numberplate is illegal, so you may have to move one of them...

ha ha, you dont know how long I've waited to see someone paint a mini too look like Herbie :)

i find it strangely amusing that one type of cult car has been painted to look like an icon from another type of cult car.

the VW people wont know if your paying them a compliment or taking the pee pee and the mini people wont know weather your an artistic genius or if your taking the pee pee :xxx:

personally i love it (but not enough to re-paint my cars :dontgetit: )

all we need now is a trio of Italian job beetles

Thanks :)

I dont play it any more which is a shame.

I played it for about a month or two, and did the website/forum before It came out.
made the club, was one of the biggest. had tons of members, but Atari let me down.

and took for ever for a patch, and still didnt fix all the problems.

Really impressed i would call it a bargain myself, i just feel sorry for the guy who made it for his clearly ungrateful son who didnt want it! Poor guy put in a ton of work and got it thrown back in his face!

I tell you one thing, i would not have said no and i dont know anyone that would really! At least you came out lucky from the whole thing

yea he finished it about a year ago I think.
he worked on it for 5 years, but his son passed his test at 17 like me,

but he joined the navy, and never went behind a car again. :/
mind you... I havnt driven for 3 years, but....

1 was last year at college, too much work to fix my mini,
2 year... to lazy
3rd year I fell Ill.

though You never forget how to drive, just road awareness drops (but doesnt for me, as a passanger, im allways telling people how to drive)
plus I do alot of online racing with me G25 :xxx:

Ive had a really tough year, and this time last year was in alot of pain.
but I think getting my first interview last week, then my getting the job.

and to find this car a week later... I think it was about time I had some luck and happyness :)

I hope I enjoy my new job and can work and pay my family back for borrowing the money for the car.
Just want to make sure I keep it clean, safe, and looked after. (just like the owner did)

My family are making me wait! My dad is at this very minute making a workshop in the garage so i can restore one, sorry to hear you had such a rough time. Things seem to be on the up!

I feel better about the poor guy now because at least there was a valid reason for the guy not wanting it rather than being a spoiled bar steward <--Do ya get it :)
