Dark room? Imigran tablets?

My mum used to get them, but she's got special tablets for them.

I used to get them, not had one for a while *touch wood*

I used to take ibuprofen (spelling?) and it used to make me dizzy when i stood up so i took tablets that are used for travel sickness.

Yes i get them.

I find the best way to null the pain is some strong painkillers and drink lots of water to flush your system. Apart from that, the best thing to do is lie down and close your eyes.

I tend to get a sick feeling with the headache and my vision goes abit dodgy, get funny shapes in my vision.

I get them too, same advice really, dark room and painkillers.

'm sure you won't waste away, but you should eat if you can, it'll keep your strength up. Something simple but carb-y, like mash, according to my doc.

I used to get them when I was in school & college, about every 6 months. Sickness, poor vision and a massive headache. Usually lasted about half a day.

best thing to do is get off the PC, get into bed, close the curtains and sleep it off... the PC screen will just make it worse.

I used to get them, very rarely though.

Had one at school once that was so bad I couldn’t feel my arm, couldn’t concentrate/hear properly.

Told the teacher I was going home, walked a mile and a half home, went to bed and woke up and it had gone.

That’s about all I could do just sleep it off.

Glad ive not had one in a while *touch wood*

I get Migraines all the time.... :P

They are really severe and make me sick, sometimes I can't even see straight. Last week I had about four hours where it lifted, but then came back, it lasted more than 6 days in total..... Nasty, nasty things to deal with.

I have been put on Rizatriptan wafers recently, Drs don't generally prescribe them as they cost the NHS more than £10 EACH. :- When I'm bad I can get through 8 in a month before I give up taking anything.......

But if they're rare and you don't take anything regularly then I agree, try Imigran (you can buy them over the counter). Stay off the computer, drink plenty and sit or lay in a dark room, try not to watch TV either!

Hope you feel better soon Bungle x

I used to get loads of bad ones, Dizzy, blurred vision, sickness and massive headaches during my school/college days not so many now, after a while I found the tablets I was taking stopped working so well after a while and just made them worse, so I just try and sleep them off, which usually works. (Should do as I can sleep for days anyways)

I take nurofen migraine relief now, as the prescription medication made me drowsy and i operate dangerous machinery, but you should try to take pain relief when you first feel one coming on, ive had migraines since i was at school.

ive had migraines for over 20years!!! i have now been prescribed anti epileptic medication because they have found that they reduce migraine attacts and they have worked!
i have gone from 1 a week to 1 a month. when i get the warning signs i take an imagran but if its already started then they dont work and i just have to go to bed and stay there til its gone as my vison goes and i feel really sick with the pain
i undderstand how you feel as when my children were younger and i had an attact it was vile cus you just cant leave them and go to bed!
