looks like the layshaft bearing kinda had enough! :s
There's quite a bit of play in the main double roller, so I think thats probably the root cause, and it's a knock on effect on that one. Either way... :s
Looks like You'll be needing some bearings then!

Eveeeentually managed to get everything I needed!

So - This is what I decided to tackle, today!

Figured that the sooner I get on to the car, the better - And also, that the inner wing was wrecked enough anyway - I couldn't really make it any worse! So thought I would practice putting some metal back on the car.
So, this is the adventure of my first ever weld on a car - My first ever hand-made patch and my first ever butt-weld.

Firstly, I chopped out the rotten section:

Then I took one of Reggie' A Panels & started stripping it down, ready to use for my patch:

(Yeaaahh - Really bad paint job shows again!)
I made my patch to do in the section:

Then welded it up!

And it's mostly straight:

The area to the left, nearerst the scuttle, is a bit rubbish - the metal's so thin and my patch wasn't the best of fits - so it's not a great line up, so the metal blew straight through. I reckon half of it's OK, but the other half isn't good enough yet.
Still, I know it's not up to standard yet, but I'm really pleased with what I've done today!
