G'day everyone, here are some pics of a Clubby that I am doing up for my sister, we bought it for $400.

I am respraying it in an original Clubman colour (in Australia anyway) called "Home On Theorange"
I made a bit of a start on it during the week but the weather turned to poo and started pouring rain so that stopped much work for a few days. got stuck into it yesterday and today though, I even had my sister down scraping stripper and paint off!
Posted Image
it had a bit of rust in the top of the guard
Posted Image
cut a section out of a LJ Torana guard
Posted Image
fits nice!
Posted Image
added a few bits to it
Posted Image
and in it goes!
Posted Image
I cleaned up the boot and gave it a quick squirt to see how the colour looked

the colour didnt come up in the pic (mobile phone) but its very similar to the orange on Triton work benches, im sure nearly every shed has one!
I got a fair amount of the body done today, I just cant get over how small these cars are, I reckon there is less to prep on the bonnet of a mini than a door on my Torana! Hopefully I will have the body in primer by the end of tomorow, then its just the engine bay and doors left. I am looking at putting a bit of time into making the engine bay look nice, messy engine bays are a pet hate of mine!

more to come tomorrow

yeah, I have read your Project thread miniboo, are the Aussie ones any different to the Pommy ones?
the weather today is horrible si I havent really achieved much and I managed to break the trans mount in my Torana so I have to replace that, so much for having this thing undercoated by Christmas!
I am hoping that my sister will lose interest in it after a while then I can have it and make some big changes engine wise :-

yeah there is quite a few differences between an aussie clubby and a uk one. external hinges, roll up windows, quarter lights, boot lid, seats, switch panel, front slam panel is removable, rear seat belts different, door handles are different, a few otehr little things aswell.

Ahh ok, I know about the boot being different and thats about it, if the weather picks up I might be able to get some undercoat on it on boxing day hopefully. I might be going to look at a 1275 tommorow too, that should be better than the 1098 thats in it now
