Hope your talking about 80mph when abroad and sticking to forien speed limits Tom :)

Bet you miss that whine of the straight cut drops :w00t: Go on admit it.

Oh yes, of course I'm only referring to when I'm abroad.... :-

And yes, I do miss the straight cut drops and box whine, I'm still looking to see if straight cuts are available for the F13 Vauxhall box :P

What are Yoko A539 & Yoko A048R's like anyone?

A539's are really good in the wet and dry, I run them on my daily driver (175/60R13's), and I know a lot of Mini people run them on 12 and 13 inch wheels.

A048R's are basically the same as the A032R, and they're awesome in the dry, but not so great in the wet. I wouldn't recommend running them through the winter on a daily driver. The same as I wouldn't recommend running A032R's on a daily motor. I've driven the 'Ring and Castle Combe in the wet on my 32R's, and they're reasonable, but being a semi-slick (pretty much), you'd be better off with the A539 for normal use.

I run 032s and mine is used daily, never had any problems in the wet. They just grip and grip, just don't do anything really stupid and you'll be fine.

They're better in both wet and dry than the Dunlop 2000SPs that I had on my 13s.

Thats good then! Mine never feel very good in the wet, but then again I have a bit more power and torque, and I run 165/70x10, so there's a much smaller contact patch. Plus I don't know about your car, but mine is set up for track use (suspension wise), so it feels generally a bit more twitchy. And the third point being that I've spent three years building the thing so I'm probably a bit of a wuss when it comes to throwing it about in the wet! :)

My daily is a Mk3 Polo GT, really not the best handling car in the world, and I rate the A539's really highly, so that explains my justification for A539's over A032R's on a road car :P

Mine are the same size.

Most of mine's standard so it's set up for normal road use.

Oh yeah, you've got those 10's that fit over 8.4" brakes haven't you?! I forgot about that. I'm glad you find your A032R's good anyway, have to admit I've never pushed mine too hard in the wet, and probably track driving isn't the fairest test for grip in the wet! :-

There's a really nice silver Clubby Auto locally to me that I keep eyeing up, its so mint and original, and it'd go nicely with an A-Series.....no, sorry, I meant a C16SE in it so I can use that for a daily and use the purple beast as my X16XE'd ITB'd straight cut plaything :P In my dreams!!

One day you'll see sense when you're fed up of bits of A-Series floating around...:-

And that was possibly the worst rhyme ever!

I like my dub too much anyway, it might only be a mini-dub but its on 137k and still going strong :)

048r are better in wet that 539's esp on 13's

048r's for the win

by the way yoko produce their "race compound tyres" from feb to october as this is there peak season.

prices on shipping increase drastically outside of these dates which is why we dont see them
