Yeah sorry 13cm. Those are the custom consoles ones that i don't want - they look like the restrict general leg room.

guy in a recent (Dec?) Miniworld mag mounted them in the arches. Looked quite swish.

I nearly did this on my old clubman,... You can use Headlamp bowls as housings for speakers upt o about 7" large and there's plenty of depth for the magnet. Uoi just have to make sure there is enough room for the wheel to move up and down freely without clipping it..

the other way I was gonna do it (and I have a Pod all made up if you want pics.) Is again,.. using the headlamp bowl, but cutting the nose off it so you have a flat edge,.. bend out four little tabs and hey presto,.. you can mount your speakers on the inside of the wing in a pod that's small,.. non bulky and doesn't intrude your legspace,. Can be attatched with nuts and bolts or self tappers,

Even covered mine in carpet, looked good!

Thats a very intresting idea. But what damage will cutting a 7" hole in the arch do structurally? Unless its not a structural area?

What would be the best was of cutting a hole that size too?

that's what worried me which was i Never did mount them IN the wing... i went for my second option of making a small speaker pod from the headlamp bowl and mounting it on the inside of the car... didn't get in the way at all, and could even be made to point the sound at you rather than your knees.

Yeah.. I think i might buy some of the pods i linked to in my first post off ebay (Item: 220184739961) and mount them on the arch in a similar place to where the ones v8mini linked to are:

I reckon that way they won't be in the way, won't take up leg room, won't cause any damage structurally and will be out of sight - which was another one of my conserns!
