Might be a case of removing the subframe...

I bought a Tap set today, i wreckon i might be able to re-thread the Rubber Cone!
yer removing the subframe is an option, but it still doesnt alleviate the problem of the that upper suspension arm, as it will allow more room to work, but the incredible force of the Cone spring is preventing anything from moving!

I tapped a new thread into the rubber cone spring and manged to compress it!
I knocked out the Trumpet connecting to the Upper suspension arm.
But, i still cant get that bloody pivot shaft to come out!!
I think the spacer has rusted to the sub frame, and just wont budge.
Are there any ideas, or past experiences!

You have to take the washer off that is bolted to the subframe, the shaft only comes out one way.Hi guys!!!

Take it off and pull shaft and plate off together.

Probably seized due to lack if greasing, try greasing and working up and down. Try removing grease nipple and soaking in WD.Oh yer no iv'e taken that off with the 2 Bolts. But the pivot shaft Still wont budge an inch!
It is difficult to drift it out from the back but you need to try, leave the nut on just wound ut to the end of the shaft and whack the shaft.
I'll pray for you

There is movement inside the arm, and it can move from side ot side slightly on the shaft.
I cannot get a hammer or wedge much behind the bolt and the footwell, due to the design of a minimoke.

I can only suggest to heat it up and try to shock it free it must be rusted in. (unusual though)Ok the Shaft can turn around, and is free to move, the Suspension arm moves freely on the pivot shaft. But it wont physically come out. Im sure that the spacer is completely stuck inside the sub frame and the thicker part of the shaft cant get passed it.

It should all come out together easily leaving a big hole

I can see the last update was about a year ago, I was wondering how did you managed to get shaft out, I have the same problem now and I am thinking of lowering the subframe to be able to hammer the shaft out.

Actually it is possible to put new standard cones in with hi-los without a compressor, I've done it a few times, but I wouldn't recommend it! With Smootharides or red dot cones it might not be possible though as I think the rubber springs are taller on those.
i agree have stripped atleast 4 front subframes without using cone compressor, once i had to smash old alloy trumpets and i have put cones in my new front subby i have now for my project without the tool,i must admit it is easier if fitting hi-los or adjusta rides.thing is i have a cheap cone compressor can never be bothered to use it..
i'd rather struggle

as stated above have you removed the two bolt's holding a plate over the pin for the top arm?pin can only be removed one way(thats into the engine bay)obviously remove the nut at rear of subby too
