Mine was a pain to fit, still needs sanding down as otherwise it's too tall.

Has anyone tried to re-veneer their dash? Ive found a walnut veneer but not sure how to get the high gloss finish. Is it a resin?

Not from a mini but this is the dash I modified in my campervan. The “wood” is actually very thin Formica which is obviously waterproof and extremely hard wearing and scratch resistant.

This thread is great, I'm really interested in how people actually FIX their dash in place, it would be great if some posters could put picutres of the back of their dash and the fittings and the brackets used as I haven't got a clue (I have the '93 mini with the miserable 3 clocks in a plastic housing and a bit of felt round the back).

Good afternoon TMF,

Here is a bit of information regarding our standard range of dashboards...

The range includes various designs for both metal top dash rail and padded top dash rail set ups, with centre 1 clock, centre 3 clock, offset 2 clock or offset 3 clock binnacle options - all trimmed in vinyl leatherette.

Sorry to resurrect a dead thread, but I would love to see these option in a LHD config. Any ideas to where we can see more LHD dash parts?

Haha, love the smart@ss reply! I checked your site earlier and didnt see anything that specified it was fine with LHD. I am having trouble loading your site now though.

I dont really bother with FB too much, but I did see a bunch of pics but nothing LHD specific. Maybe I just didnt get to it.

So, i can order whatever you have and just flip it for LHD?

Yeah that's correct, the only difference is the clocks and glovebox compartment swap sides.

As described on the website, when placing the order please make a note, in the 'Order and delivery comments' box (found at the bottom of the shopping basket), stating that you installing the dashboard in a left hand drive (LHD) Classic Mini.

Kind regards,

Andy @ Optimise Automotive

I think they are Speedhut gauges. They can do custom faces

Eg
