well i was parked on a single yellow line for about 10 minutes, knowing i couldn't park there but as everyone does at some point, i thought i'll only be quick, it'll be ok! anyway when i came back to my car there is one of them smart cars wiv a huge CCTV camera on the top of it, don't know weather it was facing up the road away from my caar, or down the road towards it, but if i do get a ticket does anyone know around about how much it will be?

Alex

i typed smart car CCTV into google, and it came up with somewhere that they are used for parking tickets. It didnt say anything about romford, but it did say that elsewhere they are used for that

Smarts are used in London, and around Hampton court areas for parking tickets.

The next time you park somewhere like thaat, get a couple of pieces of paper and cover your plates up.

There you go thats your handy tip from AK Couriers ME lol

Well those idiots like to wipe my profits every time I park up, so I took the advise I was given my an eastend market trader.

Honest us couriers are law abiding people lol.

Sometimes you just have to find ways to beat the system, oh and they can't legally come and remove the paper, as thats classed as criminal damage lol

oh luv please don't make me laugh. It is almost impossible not to park illegally within London. The idiots see a nice shiney courier vehicle pull, up and they wait to pounce regardless of the rules.

I park in a loading bay unload, take load to the office and when I return I have a nice little sticker, I confront said idiot, and he replies, well I can't see you activly unloading, after banging my head against the side of my van I calmly (restraining my arms from hitting the idiot) pint out to idiot that the goods are not going to make it from the side of the road to the office by them self are they, I do as part of my job and customer service have to take unloaded items to the office there being dropped off at.

Anyway 90% of tickets issued in London can be appealed against successfully. Its not like were popping into a shop to buy something. We have a job to do, which is made harder by the little hitlers and there bonus schemes.

Strangely enough most coppers within London are ok, and understanding but traffic wardens are useless pieces of *******

Rant over lol, now preparing myself to go into London in a couple of hours lol

I'm sure if the police saw your plates covered they'd knick you for that and the dodgy parking.
You can park on a single yellow to load so depends how long you were there - they have observe that you were parked not just drive by 'n film your car. I bet there'll be a website of ticket avoidance tactics. doubt the fine will be more than £30.

Im not aiming this at you as you have a job to do, but for people who just leave their car to pop into the shop. I know, customers come first and all that jazz, and you have a job to do, Im just commenting on the irrisponsible comment to 'cover your plates up'. You are doing your job, but then so are traffic wardens, Im sure they wouldnt call you 'useless pieces of *******' for parking on the lines!

I'm sure if the police saw your plates covered they'd knick you for that and the dodgy parking.

exactly! More trouble than its worth, not to mention illegal! Not really a good Idea to post that sort of idea on a public forum as 'advice'.
