I am a stolen vehicle examiner for Cheshire Police.
I am currently trying to identify a possible stolen Rover Mini Cooper.
It has had all it's identity removed but I have not given up hope of returning it to it's rightful owner.
I am looking for your help to try and locate who it may belong to.
It is British Racing Green, white roof, 13" Mini lites. It is an injection model and has the fixings for four spotlights on the bumper. It has a walnut dash, leather steering wheel with airbag and matching gear lever gaiter.
Apart from this there is not much more I can tell you.
There are a couple of 'unique' touches which I wont reveal publicly, but the 'loser' would be able to describe.
Please spread the word, ask your friends, and ask them to ask their friends. Post this on as many Mini other forums that you may frequent.
There is no reward other than the satisfaction of bringing a smile to a fellow Mini owners face.
Please let me know by e-mail on mike.nash 'AT' cheshire.pnn.police.uk
(Mods- if suitable, please make this a sticky for a short period of time)

Certainly happy to make this a sticky.

Plus, it's really nice to see such a positive step from the Police force! ;D

Thanks for the replies so far.
The scuttle panel has been cut out so no ID there!
Your help is much appreciated.

LOL. We do get to know of 'supplementary' markings, but then someone here may know something that I don't.
I have spoken to Mini Heritage, Mini Sport, Mini Mag................... and no joy as yet.
I was hopeful that the ECU may contain info on identity but it seems not.

Might I suggest that when you guys are stripping & rebuilding your cars that you put identifying marks in places like the battery well, on the fuel tank(s), behind the rear light lenses, even under the carpets on the cross beam.

You could also let Mini world and the British Mini Club know, so they can both put it in their mags.

Good work that your doing =] and I hope this person gets their mini back.
