i'm absolutely sick to the back teeth of working my bum off at TWO jobs just so I can get half of it taken away in tax to pay for jobless *people*. I'm really sick to it.

Why the HELL should I be penalised for working when some peple can't get off their bloody fat arses and get a job to earn money, instead of ripping off the government on benefits. if their fit to work then they shouldn't get ANY allowances. Same goes if you've dropped out of school. "I dont have any qualifications" Bollx! Anybody can waitress, work behind a bar, clean. Jesus., lazy or what. I don't mind if they can't work, if they've got a disability or what not. that's fine, but pure lazyness is not an illness.

If you've had a child, once it's arrived & you've had your maternity leave (think it's about 6 or 7 months) get back out there searching for a job! doesn't take much. how many businesses are looking for workers?

Calculate how many job vacancies we have, against how many bloody unemployed people, then we'll see the brighter picture.

They do my bloody head in.

Argh, but they're so skint, they can afford to have a a nice new house, new things, new clothes, drugs, drink. God! Argh!

I'm sick of it. Anybody else agree with me?

Bloody dole. England Government needs a kick up the ars*e.

I'm just gonna move to a country where 3/4 of the populations are either illegal immigrants (that we welcome with open arms) or scroungers. Get to f***ing work! If you're skint, work your blooody arse off, don't make me pay for your bloody luxuries.

Geeeeeeez.

I totally agree i work 50-80 hours a week doing two jobs earning less than 16k a year and i get taxed more than a millionaire
I love this country (sarcasm) I'm also fed up with jobless wonders who take take take but i look at the bigger picture when the tories get back in goverment then they'll be pooing themselves hehe can't wait by the way the tax for a millionaire is 40% and i get taxed about 42% work that out?!?!

Maybe they should just abolish Job Seekers Allowance/benefits/the dole and only provide money for those who truly need it (disabled etc.)

Seems sensible to me, would be an insentive to get of their bottoms and work.

This comming from someone who has been on Job Seekers Allowance for a short time while looking for work.

You're fortunate to have a job(s) & be able to feed, clothe & house yourself, Sheree. There are a lot of people in this world who can't. :)

We're actually a lot better off in rubbish-old-England than elsewhere. :)

I dont think you quite understand.

The taxes we pay dont just go to unemployed people (and thats not the case ill explain in a mo), they also go to the NHS, running of public transport, keeping the roads in good order etc etc.
In America (prime example) Whenever you go to the doctor, you pay a bill. Not just for your subscription, you pay for their time. The taxes we pay allow our docotors to be free (unless you go private).

Now the "unemployed" section that "get our taxes" as benefits isnt all true. The only reason people get benefits is to allow them to live. Say you are in a job, and then get made redundant. How the hell are you going to feed your family, pay the bills, pay your morgage/rent and yet still try and find a job??

you then say this;

Firstly, when/if you have a baby, wait until your maternaty leave finishes and then try and say "ok ill let someone else look after my child and ill get bak to work". I'd imagine it to be a little difficult, hence why most mothers take 12-18 months off work.

Vacant jobs Vs unemployed, isnt that simple. If the amount of vacant jobs didtn require qualifications then yes it would be easy. And im not just talking about GCSE's, a lot of jobs require you to have a NVQ level3 or BTec, national diploma etc etc Ok if the unemployed peiople have these qualifications then its easier but the majority of them dont.

Maybe a search on google might shed more light on what your taxes actually go on.

And please alter your post so it complys with the TMF guidlines please. These can be found at the top of your page.

I agree with you on most of it appart from the bit about children, yeah great go out and get a job but what about the kids, when we had our 2 kids we looked into childcare and it was more than we are earning so it's cheaper not to go back to work. Kids don't go full time at school untill the term they turn 5, on of mine is 4 and the other is 6, my 4 year old finishes at 11.45 everyday, luckily i work from home so i can drop off and pick the kids up. It's not as easy as "just get a job" plus you have got to think about school holidays.

I agree this government make it too easy for people to scrounge and not bother working, since i left uni i have always had a job although sometimes i do wonder why, with a wife and 2 kids to feed and support i would get more money if i was on the doll claiming benefits but i'm not like that, i like to work.

I'm fed up of people moaning when they don't know the full story. Reading the papers and watching the news doesn't mean you know the full story, or even the true story.

Well, as a Nation, we like to have a good moan. And a nice queue. :) And a moan in a nice queue. :) And then a cup of tea with maybe a biscuit & a whinge.....

It is amazing how much we take this country for granted & over inflate our "sufferings". At least we have a National Health Service to take care of us when we sick or injured & a welfare system to support us when we can't work for whatever reason. I'm quite happy that I live in this fortunate part of the world. ;)

People who can't be bothered to work should not get any benefits.

It's their own problem.

I don't midn getting help if you';ve got a family, but if you plan to have children, you should plan before that you can afford to bring them up, look after a house & whatnot.

Great, lets all kick off.

Britain has always excelled in all things, so let's be proud that where being a bit pants is concerned we're up with the best of em :)

Seriously, if you're no better off working than you would be on benefits designed to meet the minimum financial needs to live: something is very wrong in what is supposed to be the world's 4th largest economy and it isn't the welfare system.

Someone on benefits still pays VAT and buys goods and services that provide jobs. Even administering their benefits employs people who produce nothing more than bureaucracy and statistics for politicians. I wouldn't be so sure the same applies for those who use their wealth to drive up house prices in a speculative attempt to make even more money or buy luxury goods off other parasites that are 90% pretentious hype and 10% the sweat of an honest worker.
