I'm fed up of people moaning when they don't know the full story. Reading the papers and watching the news doesn't mean you know the full story, or even the true story.

im fed up of YOU belittleing ppls opinions.

I've been made redundant twice and both times i had another job within a day, i never had to rely on job seekers allowance.

just recently we were looking an renting a house near where my mum lives, at £650 a month we couldn't afford it. seems its gone to a single mum with three young kids who has the rent paid by the DSS (or something). good on her, but i like to earn my money.

i agree in general with the first post but i dont know enough to get technical on it as I've never had to go into that side of things, I've always paid my own way.

good rant.

PS: gee whiz, are we having a TMF firing squad now then ??

PPS: when we going to have a happy topic free week to counter act the moan free week ???

PPPS: England is so cr@p because we have to sit and watch that bloody "the one and only" program every week. that queen tribute band were criminal

If I won the lottery I'd still work.

Just for the security... and well, just for something to do  being 21, even a lottery win won't last till death...

I'd start my own business too, I'd probably invest in property...

In my city there's no reason for dole scroungers really. Apparently it's the fastest growing city in the north as far as economy is concerned, so why are people still out of work? Like ethel said there's people who have given up on the system as a lost cause... but really, can they just be so selfish as to "give up" and become state dependent? That's if they've ever worked a day in their life in the first place. In other countries you would be a lot worse off if you were to try live off the state.

This country is too much of a soft touch, to native born and foreign born citizens alike... and too harsh on normal, lower end working class people just trying to scrape by.

we have become a neuturing country, perviously when people didnt keepthem selfs afloat they were left behind, same in animal kingdom and cavemen...you cant survive you die, nower days you cant live if you dont have suply of money. There for the way it should be you dont work you dont get money you can live your can survive instead its you cant make money...oh dont worry we will work it out.

mean while the proffessional worker, the Dr's the the teachers, the engineer's well educated, or even the decent not so well educated but still working...they dont have time to build a family, maybe have 1 child they can cope with being out the house 8-6. the non-workers have all the time to f*ck away...and yes...pun VERY much intended...passing on there jeans(not the way its spelt i know what but i cant be bothered to look it up) and that is why the increase in the "lowlifes" are increasing and the decent workers are fading...of course its not an exclusive rule but we are of course taught how we are bought up by our parents/gaurdiens

yeah yeah...its not very well worded but i just couldnt be bothered simple as

In my eyes there's a few classes in society, I don't like classifying people but there are certain levels

The "upper class" - royalty and millionaires

The "middle class" - medium-high earners ranging from Doctors to professional company directors

The "working class" - from bin men and minimum wagers to skilled workers earning upto 25-30k

The "underclass" - those who choose not to work and live off the state.

As most of the basis of the country's operation is put upon the working class surely some sort of incentive should be made for those people to continue in their "daily slog" to stop them dropping into the underclass and claiming from the state?

Obviously within the working class you have a large section of people - I class myself as working class because, well I work fulltime, so does my other half, and we own our house and just get by. Other people in the working class rent homes from the local council - through force not choice - it's those who I think should benefit from the government because they're the type of people, IMO, who're more likely to slip into the underclass.

The underclass serves no purpose in my opinion because they just take from the system. If we could get 50% of them to work the economy would get a boost, because they're not using MANY more services but they're contributing tax instead of taking away our taxes.

Note that I haven't included those on long-term illness benefit or disability benefit. That's because they're an exception to my vague 'class' categorisation. There's some in the underclass but that's not saying they should be forced into work.

Something to ponder over. How many unemployed people do you know who go out all day every day, knocking on the doors of businesses asking for work? Not many I'd say. One example of our lazy, increasingly americanised society but there again that's another issue

A lass I know went to the job centre the other week.

She's 18 and a single I think, and had a baby last year.

Thus far you'd assume her to be a chav single mum. Well she isn't at all.

She has great GCSE's (which seem to count for nothing these days), a national diploma in something, and another 2 year qualification.

The lady in the job centre said "so you cant be bothered finding a job then?".

What sort of attitude is that? She went there to look for a job that she could manage with the child, whilst the child is being looked after and in future while she's at nursery and stuff. They just didn't want to help. Having a go at the lass isn't going to encourage her to find a job is it? She needs help!

Another lass I know had to sign on in-between jobs for a couple of weeks. They wouldn't let her mum - who's pretty old and harmless - sit in the job centre and wait for her - because of the 'terrorist threat'. LOL.

Mad mad country we live in.

Went off on one a bit there, I agree about the job centres being useless, the best way to get a job is to apply to a company directly. My dad's company is a very small business yet he only uses the job centre as a last resort due to the high number of applicants just applying so they can fulfil the criteria to claim next week's JSA - they have no intention of actually taking the job.

Managing the unemployed is a pretty difficult subject really, but it's obvious that drastic measures are needed to sort the mess out, no-one has the balls to take those measures though, that's the problem.

Maybe you should go live in Ghana for a month, or somewhere like estonia or bolivia. Then say how much you hate the way britian is.

hei. whats the story about Estonia?
