I have been thinkin about this for a long time, my mate is taking his laptop, and we will be getting our hands on a digicam/camcorder.

You can buy these off the net... but they are something like £50, which is rediculas, i was going to try and make one myself! but i have NO idea where to get them sticky pads from! i have/can get my hands on everything else like the camera mount, the ally, and that. Basically they 'suck' to a clean panel on your car, not sure if they will be up for the bumps of my mini, but can always give it a go, and have a safety line for the camera!

soooooo, if anybody can find anywhere to get the suky pads from, i will be up for making, and mounting one of these on my car for the whole run!! and have a digicam running from a 12v power supply, plugged directely into a laptop, and can record/stop using a remote control!

ideas on a postcard please!

I have seen some people with mounts on their roll cage, looks like a good idea but I have no idea on where to get them from, also do not have a cage myself so pointless :-

Was thinking of buying a good webcam ( if that exists) to link to my car pc ( if it gets finnished!) to record the trip on!

sounds a great idea to me. I dont have any hi-tech stuff like that so would defo want one. I imagine all of the run participants would like a copy - so that would be at least 50 copies.

could re-live the memories over and over.......... :erm:

i'll be taking the Sony DV camera along, youre all welcome to any footage from that once ive transferred it to my PC.

highly recommend these guys for camera mounts.. http://www.b-hague.c.....s systems.htm

im running one of these for just under £80

remember dont skimp on this, last thing you want is a camera flying off/around your car at X mph. personally id say mount to something solid like a rollcage.

Well they filmed round it for Top Gear so maybe we should look into permission.

i dont think they're that bothered about filming, however i think it might be to curb people trying to show off in front of the camera

im mounting a digi-cam on my top dash rail to record one lap of the ring

I was thinking of doing a dvd, great idea. Perhaps we could all host on the web / ftp our respective footage, this would allow a decent mix of cars, people, views, etc.

I am looking into a decent webcam or two to hook up to the lappy for recording purposes. I am interested in bullet cams also, that way you could rig some up to low vantage points like under the car by the wheels, etc. This would give great shots in terms of perspectives.
