This is an old thread, i thought I can contribute to this, then realised i started it 5 years ago! Anyway i decided to go for it soon after. Still cant make up my mind if they do look sillythough and if i did the right thing:

In my opinion a mini is one of the few cars that can get away with a big portion of rubber on the wheels (in contrast with the low profile tyre rush everyone is after), it gives the mini that go cart look.

What about the 205/65-10 trailer tyres, not what I'd use as racing tyre but I have a trailer with a set on and they certainly can handle the load (l/r 500kgs) speed rating I don't know but mine's done about 3 trips from here to Sydney (1100 kms each way) sitting on 110-120 kph most of the time. They still look like new. Just a thought.
