I've seen a few VW roof racks with the wooden slats and think they look great... but would they fit on a mini? Has anyone tried this?

measure one if you can, I dont think it will, is the bay not wide? bungle might know.

i can measure a VW roof rack for you, but don't have a mini near me

ok a 2 bow one like above is 1400mm between the gutters and 30mm high from gutter height

don't know my mini is 3 miles away

but i would of guess before i measured it that a camper roof rack would be bigger than a mini

Grrrr... growl. I like the look of them! Guess there are no mini alternatives with the wooden slats? Unless Bungle dude you want to try chopping your one up?

Lowandslow on here, who's Mini (Pinkle) was in last month's Mini Mag has an old Ford roof rack. Fits a treat and was super cheap!

It looks very similar to that, wooden slats and alu rails, and it sits lower than the Works type roof racks.

I"m looking for one too.... I was told that there's a company called "Regal" that actually made one for the mini but I haven't been able to find it... Google hasn't been friendly on the topic...


if I had any metal forming skills I'd make one myself
