I spoke to a guy at 7Enterprises here in the USA (mini parts shop) and he said the rack that fits on the classic beetle (ie: the one above that I posted) will fit no problem... he said it drops right on and the rails line up and he's going to send me a picture of HIS mini that actually has one on it.... I'll post the pic as soon as I get it

me too... he says it drops right on with no mods.... we'll see when I get the pic(s)

he says it's the EMPI one... I found it on JCWhitney's website (a USA parts company) but I'm not going to order until I see the pics.... it qualifies for free shipping so I'm waiting patiently to pull the trigger and order

LOL... well he's at the shop and he said the pics are "probably" at home, so I most likely won't see anything until tomorrow if i haven't seen anything yet... my guess is that it will be tomorrow or else I would have had them by now... you guys will be the first (other than me of course)

Well I couldn't wait any longer... I ordered a VW bug rack for my Mini.... now we'll just have to wait for it to come so I can try it on... hopefully in the meantime, I'll get those pics to post

if the rack truly fits, then I'll be a really happy camper... if it almost fits (and I can mod it easily) then I'll be a happy camper.... if it totally sucks, then I'll be pi$$ed off

but luckily they have a "no questions asked" return policy....LOL

I paid $209 USD with free shipping

it's the EMPI rack...
http://www.empius.co...2008_pg220.html

you can't order direct from them, but there might be a local distributor of these near you....

I CAN'T WAIT TO GET MINE!!!!

just got it a few days ago.... I put it together last night and put it on the car.... doesn't drop right on ;) ... the front is narrower than the rear, and the rear is a tad too wide for the roof rails and the front a tad narrow... and the center strut doesn't come down far enough to touch the roof rail.... I'll have to cut the front and rear struts to let the middle one touch, and I'll have to widen the front and narrow the rear.... I don't have the tools/skill to do it, so I'll have to get a local welder or bodyshop to do it.... kinda disappointing, but fixable....

could you not bend the legs? if you try, heat up the areas you're gonna bend, save cracking the paint. I've recently bought a BMC one for £30 so I'm laughing ;)

I'll still have to shorten the front and rear legs to match the middle one so that all three on each side are touching the rain gutters...

got pics?
