Glad you are sorted.

I just wanted to add my poblem to the same thread!

I had very weak slow flashes on both indicators (1979 Mini 1000) so I thought I'd change the flasher unit. I put the new one in and I was getting a slow flash on the left and one flash then staying on on the right. I suspected that a low voltage (or is it current?) at the relay must be causing the poblem. The spade connecters to the relay were in a poor state so I replaced them - no difference. Re-fited the old relay - that clicks but no fashes at all now. Re-connected the new one and found that the flashes seem to work (still slowly) when driving but not properly when engine off or idling.

Having read all of the above I'm going to check the fuse box and the earths on the clusters. The hazard lights work really well though so I'm not sure the problem is an earth or fusebox problem. Is the flasher unit earthed through its connection to the body via the clamp? Someone also told me that problems in the hazard switch on the dash can also cause problems with the indicators? Any Ideas?

Many thanks

My indicators will burn in hell. My hazards work but my indicators don't. I put a new flasher unit on but there isn't even any clicking when I switch them on. I checked the stalk, and to be honest it was in a right state. I've managed to buy a whole lucas stalk unit (indicator and wiper stalks) from thiefbay. My fusebox looked very tidy, however I've managed to get a blade fusebox so I will be changing it. It seems like it's either the fusebox or rear cluster earths. My plans are to remove the rear clusters, clean up all the connections etc and stick the new fusebox on. From all I've gathered the fuse box can cause strange problems. Any other ideas? would a bad earth on the rears stop the whole indicator circuit? My other rear lights work, brake, reverse, hazards.
