I'm after an up-to-date console. Wii is out of it, they are boring and rubbish graphics.

I can get either a ps3 or a 360.

Can anyone just quickly fill me in on which one is best at what things etc..........

ps3's online gaming in free unlike xbox live and gta4 is coming to ps3 aswell, and 360 doesnt have blu ray or gt5

The Xbox 360 has a fantasic online service and some very good exclusive games, the PS3 has free online play and a Blu-Ray drive.

the xbox live community is so much bigger, i would buy the xbox just for COD4 live, who wants to watch bluray dvds

It all depends on what you want from a console. If you arent bothered with online playing then the xbox is cheaper, get some great deals now or buy 2nd hand from ebay. The ps3 is slightly more but has the blu ray dvd player. Most games are now coming out on both consoles.

I have a xbox as I got a 20gb console, 11 games and its been chipped for £180 off ebay. I thought about ps3 for the blu ray dvd's but as I have a HD dvd player and dont fancy buying all my films again in Blu ray I havent bothered.

point made above PS3 online is FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! and there are plenty of people online and you could add to it plus the PS controllers are about 10 billion times better than XBOX ones. the wireless xbox one weighs about 2 stone and last for about 5 mins, the PS3 one is very light much more ergonomic and lasts for a good few hours

GTA On xbox will have So much Downloadable content like Cars ect, that its unbelivable, plus Forza 2

Yeah but which has best graphics? it's ps3 isn't it. Also there is problems with the battery life on 360's controllers wheras ps3s are rechargable, correct?
Which is fastest for loading?
cheapest games?

It's a real shame that HD DVD appears to already be a dead format, I really don't want to buy a Blu Ray player even once you can pick one up from Asda for £20. Why does everyone insist on changing to new formats every few years, some of us have only just caught up to DVD.

There are no problems with the battery life on the Xbox 360 controllers. Mine will last a good 40 hours before the battery need recharging, that is even with the rumble feature enabled.

Oh yeah stated this on here before and got slated for it, but still, after about 6 months of PS3 servers being open, theyl become laggy and C**p,and Gt5 Prologue is Laggy online, as i was playing it earlier, if you go on any 360, and go olnine, theres thausands of players, and good bandwidth. so thats why you pay for live, server maintinence

Well to be honest, wireless is silly anyway, why would you use that lol. a good feature to have though. i really think that as the Graphics are getting better on theese consoles, the tellys can not handle it.
Like ive got a 50" sony, with a 360 and Ps3 hooked up to it, and when i play the PS3 through HDMI, The edges are blured, and you get constant flickeing on certain parts of the cars, like the number paktes ect. Go for whatever one has the games that interest you the most. like i had the PS3 first because i wanted to Play F1 CE.
