Don;t think it's very popular at my ends.
But im not bothered about silly things like the bloody weight of the controllers and stuff like that,
just gameplay, online, and extra functions,

Online gaming; at the end of the day I'd say its your on connection that matters the most. If you've got a poor wireless connection at the point of your console then it doesn't matter how good the network is, your always going to get lag. Both companies are going to ensure their networks/systems work to be best of their budgets (and lets not forget that some of the money you pay for Xbox live will be going towards subsidising the cost of the console as M$ loses money on each sold).
It doesn't even come down to price. Yes the PS3 is more expenisve to buy, but then you are getting a DVD player that isn't a dead format, your getting a wireless controller (which IS very useful), and your getting free online gaming, and very cheap downloads of classics like Destruction Derby, Cool boarders and Crash Bandicoot (am holding out for Worms!!).
Ultimately it comes down to the games. As someone else has said the graphics aren't that dissimilar, although I think PS3 are just edging ahead now. But, no matter how good the graphics are, if the game is pants then you aren't going to be playing it! I think the only game thats exclusive to the Xbox is Halo 3, which whilst being good online, was short and much like Halo 2 offline. So, on the PS3 you have COD4 (which I believe is slightly better than the Xbox version, though I might be wrong on that?), GT5 (one of the best games (and its not even the full version) I've ever played), GTA4 coming out soon, Time Crisis 4, Tekken soon I think, Metal Gear Solid 4 (another truly awesome game). Having looked through Xbox's upcoming releases I can't find one that would interest me, that I can't get on PS3.

Who cares about HD-DVD or Blu-Ray, everyone has normal DVDs, and since both consoles play them its not really a deciding factor. Both HD DVD formats are too expensive at the moment anyway, and ultimately in a years time there won't be any HD-DVDs, on Blu-Ray, so there isn't any point getting an Xbox and thinking you'll be able to watch the latest HiDef DVDs in a couple of years time.
thats like buying a ps2 with a VCR in it when DVD's came out, and sayin "ohhhh, there too expensive". Blu-Ray will be around, HD-DVD is already non existant. And xbox have stated the WILL NOT be releasing a bluray a player add on! so if you get a xbox 360 you will NEVER be able to watch a DVD in high def... hehe.
Get a ps3, supprised no1 has mentioned things like the wireless adapter you have to buy for the xbox which is free for the ps3. The spare bedroom you will need to keep the xbox's power supply in, unlike the ps3 which just has one kettle lead. Xbox has nothing over the ps3, the only thing xbox owners have to argue their case is inaccurate gaming rumours.

360 FTW!
all this nonsense about controllers being heavy!?!!? SISSY'S!
ive played both PS3 & 360, and the PS3 controller admittedly felt like a feather, this is no good! you want to be able to feel something in your hands when you play, battery life on the 360 controllers is superb! and the online community is alot better! granted you have to pay for it but you wont regret it! you can pick up 13 months of XBL on eBay for 24.99 and c'mon its not that much! oh the the Xbox looks alot sexier, rather then the black bread bin
so yeah
360!

Any my PS3 looks very sleek next to my black Samsung monitor, they perfectly complement each other. The 360 looks like a toy.

Your trying to sell the Xbox on the battery life of its controllers?!
I've had to recharge my PS3 controller once since I got it last Weds, and that was playing it quite a bit!! And it only involved plugging it in for 10 minutes. I don't know how the Xbox compares, but to me this wasn't any hassle.

couldnt agree more.
I love my PS3 controller! and no replaceing bloody batteries!!!
I garantee after the next month, PS3 will outsell XBOX 360 non stop.
its allready outselling in some area's at the moment. due to GT5 Pro.
and soon as GTA and metal gear hit... thats the end of Xbox!

Still undecided though!! I like the fact that PS3s have better graphics, rechargable controllers and free online play but the 360 is alot cheaper. But I have had playstations since I was about 6 so I think I'll probably end up staying loyal to good old sony. This coupled with some of the major overheating(Sometimes melting) problems of the 360 I do think I'll buy a PS3. As I said I've had playstations since I was young and I still play my PS2 almost daily and in 6 years I've not ever had one problem.

As for images getting blurry, thats possibly because they were not designed to be played on tv's that big. I think from what I have seen the best size is prob 32 or maybe 37 at a push.
One main selling point for the PS3 however is the Blu-Ray. My personal opinion is that I wont be swayed by that as they cost twice the amount (easily) of a normal DVD. I find the quality of a good DVD player with component cable and a decent tv is adequate. I also cant believe that HD DVD has died already. It just seemed to roll over and be done with it.
If money was no object and I was buying tomorrow, Id probably get the PS3. However, Im currently poor so I am still considering a 360 from Ebay. (Note: if anyone has one for sale for a bargain price, then let me know).
