xbox lags far more for me, my mates got an xbox and playing COD4 at his it's always laggin and going off, it even totally went down at christmas because too many people were online at the same time (apparently they were supposed to be giving everyone a free downloadable game but I don't know if it happened) I'm on ps3 and I have never lagged on COD4. Sony make bajillons there servers won't go down

Yeah but mate, there money is irrelevant. they do that, release a game, keep it all good for the first 6 months or so, and once the majority of people that would buy it, have. theyl start getting more leniant on bugs and glitches. until its so bad no-one plays it anymore, then the servers get closed. Maybe they wont this on the PS3, im talking with experience from PS2 Networking. so my guess is as above

Xbox Live is a P2P online service; it doesn't use servers for the online play. Only for the downloadable content, so that will not affect your connection. Either the host or you must of had a poor connection speed.

Also on the point about the graphics, at the moment there is very little difference between the Xbox 360 and the PS3. Especially when you compare cross platform games.

my personal opinion is get a buy a 360 now, then leave it to either just before or just after christmas as sony are bound to drop the price of the PS3 as the 360 is still out selling it, even more so with the lower price.

do a google search for xbox live down christmas and have a read. It was totally off, and yeah more people on means more people with C**p connections meaning more games being ended. personally I haven't had a game lag on me on the PS3 and my internet is shockingly rubbish, my mate who has the xbox, his net is far better but it lags all the time. £40 a year or whatever it is to play online, I just don't think it's worth it unless your on all the time.

I just like PS3 better.

for the person who's asking the question, do any of your mates have either an xbox or a ps3, if you have quite a few mates with one of them then maybe you will want to get that as you will be able to play online with them if you want to that is

Xbox 360 was so so last year

I know, cause I had it for a month and got bored.
happy with my PS3 and PC for gaming.

Yes, the Sony Online service has always been perfect. Ever since it's extremely lacklustre launch on the PS2.

I'm not denying that Xbox Live never goes down, most of the time it is only for a few hours due to maintenance.

xbox has gears of war 2 on its way but one game i will miss is metal gear solid i thinks it only going to be on ps3, but like someone has said before depends what your mates have youl want to play online wid them

Ive never really been that much of a fan of Xbox, but then I have played more on playstations through the years

I had an original playstation so naturally went for the PS3 for the exclusives such as GT5 and metal gear.

Its all down to preference really, both consoles have great features, you could almost go on which controller you prefer as a lot of games are now released on both consoles and play very similar - Rockstar have said GTA4 will be identical on both, some are slightly better on XBOX, some on PS3.

I love my PS3 and the online gaming has been perfect for me, but just personal experience!

Remember the days when there was no such thing as cross platform games? Despite all that has been said above, the PS3 and Xbox 360 are actually extremely similar consoles when you compare them to consoles of past.
